UPDATE: Find your avatar with the locator!

Also, I change the image :)

Ok, so I was a little bored, and decided to play with Andrea Mosaic, (Nifty  ). So I was thinking, where can I get a few thousand small pictures??? Google perhaps? What theme should I use? How do I download them? Then it dawned on me - OCAU Avatars of course!!! So, I made a script to download all 5018 of the bastards... 20 minutes later, and I had them all. Next I had to get an image, with lots of different colours in it. I chose the OCAU logo, with some rather "happy" colouration

    :D
The result was pretty good - click on the image below, to be taken to a page where you can zoom in, and find your avatar!

If you do find yourself in there, let me know - the images are named according to what quadrant they're in, eg: top left is 1-1, and bottom right is 6-2

Note1: Not all avatars may be in there; just depends what the program chose for the required colours... Also, they may be flipped or dis-coloured slightly.
Note2: So that 56kers could also play, I've used a relatively low resolution version - each tile is about 16px wide - just enough to recognise your avatar
Note3: Before anyone else mentions it, I have thought about making a poster, (and giving it to Agg, if he's interested in a print version for sale via pluscorp perhaps?), so if anyone have a suggestion for a piccy that would be suitable, please let me know.

Indeed! That is amazingly awesome!! How big is the original picture? I might be interested in getting one printed.

Original is 3500x940 or so, but I can re-render to any size :)
I might see if I can dig up a portrait OCAU logo, and make a poster sized one...

I think you might get some trademark problems with people using corporate logos as avatars.

Hmmm... Maybe, although technically speaking, it will not be an infringement, as it is not being used as a trademark :) Eg: you can quote trademarks for various purposes, as long as you acknowledge it is not your trademark, and which company it belongs to...

*starts rendering 5000 pixel wide version*

Ok, here is a much higher resolution version - each avatar is about 30px, full resolution: 5004x1930
WARNING: 3mb image file, do NOT click on this if you're on dial up. Link is a full stop after this sentence, so people don't accidentally click on it, please be gentle with my websites bandwidth.

That's amazingly cool. :) Nice work. Would be worth getting it printing as a big cloth banner we could use for events etc.

    Thats very cool

Only suggestion would be to remove all the duplicate images, as there are quite a few clumps of the same image
