OCAU Graphic & Programming Freelancers

There is a bit of freelance chat going on and people are not sure where to get a graphic designer to do their layout or to get a developer to CSS it up or a programmer to develop something.

A few of us here on OCAU would love to be doing this Freelance Development work so why don't we create a categorised list of available freelancers and their experience level?

Not sure if this is a good place for this, but i've been contacted by someone on OCAU asking for work (presumably through this thread), after supplying three concepts they've ignored all emails and follow ups (3 weeks ago)

Was about 2-3 hours worth of work.

Just a warning to other graphic artists out there, don't be scammed, make sure your not stupid like I was get the identities of your clients before accepting work.

EDIT: Just to clarify, it aint about the money, its 2-3 wasted where you could of been working on something else, or spending time with family. Working a full time job then going home spending 2-3 on other work and not being compensated for it really sux.

 

Not only that, get a 50% deposit for the work to be completed before starting. Or a signed contract or something, but being freelancers i would bet most of us don't have this covered.

But yeah, this happens, i spet a week designing a website, not the programming just organising the design and having meetings and stuff, and the job fell through. BUT... NOW.... 1 year later hes paid a 50% deposit and work is underway, lolz

 

some people just take their time i guess.

we have an on going project that started 2 years ago, and have been through 2-3 management, and the site is still going (intranet)
but they've paid for what ever we've done

 

Understand that people can take time, but any correspondence would be good.

Especially when I know they've read my messages (OCAU PM's).

A simple "Hello, thanks for the concepts, give me some time to review them" is too much to ask?

Anyway, its different when its two registered companies liaising as opposed to two individuals.
