Gigabyte Z97 Competition!

For those of you who don't know HWBOT is; hwbot.org is the foremost overclocking website, where individuals and teams compete in overclocking benchmarks against each other from all around the world, pushing hardware to it's silicone limits.

Currently our OCAU HWBot team is ranked 32nd in the world out of 2727 and is punching well above it's weight. The team is free to join and new members are welcome. Our home thread can be found here.

Each benchmark will award 10 points to the highest score, 8 to the second, 6 to the third, 4 to the fourth and 2 to the fifth.
Prizes 1 to 3 will go to the top scoring individuals, with prize 4 going to a prize draw for any individual who submits scores in all 3 benchmarks.

This competition will be based on 3 Tests.
Stage 1 will consist of the new Catzilla - 576P - CCC (crap card challenge) GT610 test, Version 1.2 - Starting Saturday 12th April (midnight) - Ending 20 May between 9am and 5pm

Stage 2 will consist of Superpi 8M - 4Ghz Cap - Starting Saturday 12th April (midnight) - Ending 22 May between 9am and 5pm
Superpi can be downloaded here.
Stage 3 will consist of 3dmark01 - CCC (crap card challenge) GT610 - Starting Saturday 12th April (midnight) - Ending 24 May between 9am and 5pm

Rules
* All Submissions must feature the competition background, and a valid screenshot.
* A valid screenshot for Catzilla will show the benchmark score with subtests at 576P, a GPU-Z window, and two CPU-Z windows showing CPU and Memory tabs.
* A valid screenshot for SuperPi will show the benchmark run with all loops, and two CPU-Z windows showing CPU and Memory tabs.
* A valid screenshot for 3dmark01 will show the benchmark score with results tab showing subtest FPS, a GPU-Z window, and two CPU-Z windows showing CPU and Memory tabs.
* No score may be submitted on Windows 8 or 8.1

Submissions to HWBOT are not required to enter this competition however OCAU’s HWBOT team is always open to new members.
Gigabyte also encourages the use of Gigabyte hardware and if you have some hardware, show it off!
I've tried to ensure these are total tweak-fests guys, so let's get the scores cranking, the operating systems tight, and I want to see lots of messy rig pictures!

Awesome stuff again and gotta love these comps. Now gotta try and find a GT610 lol. Really can't wait to try these out and see some new guys join.

 

Ive picked a card thats cheap enough for people to buy and bin if they need to, and you have a few weeks to get a card. I can’t wait to see people half ass modding them.

 

After just having a quick look now they do seem pretty cheap, although for those selling they might get prices now lol. Also probably is good card to learn mods on and not a 780 ..

 

Sounds like a good enough excuse to start working on getting some 3d efficiency finally..

And 8m =

 

Sweet. How on earth do you mod a card? Is it possible to have the 610 in another slot and tell 3Dmark to use that card and not main card? Or maybe more gear swapping etc.

Unfortunately I reckon I will be up against it given my boards 1.8v vdimm limit.

I'm in but I'm going to be stuck on a crap ECS board for the next few weeks

 

Z77? I'm reading to sell off my last OC-F (single chan dimms only, broken cpu pins) and maybe my UP7.

 

I was thinking z87 or z97 since good overclocking Z77 boards are getting pretty hard to get but I may be able to fix your OCF unless the pins have broken off and I maybe interested in the UP7

also are there any rules on how cards etc have to be mounted?? can i have the gfx card running off a couple of ribbon cables and not actually in the case??

 

As long as gpuz says gt610, i dont mind how you get it running. Im pretty sure you cant run them in sli, so no sli, but if you need a ribbon cable that will be fine.
