The Corsair K90 is pretty much what i look for in a mechanical keyboard.. backlit, MX reds and a volume wheel :leet:

You should also look for a full mechanical when looking for a mechanical keyboard.

yeah not going to bother with K90, i'll wait till they do a revision that is fully mechanical.

Which they will, i think the use of rubber dome might be to give them some upgrading room, rather than any design decision.

Hybrid mech with rubber dome FN/Esc has already been done before on Kinesis, and the no.1 complaint for these is invariably the rubber domes.

I am going to buy Ducky Shine with white LED instead this year, with Cherry Red or Brown.

Got my keyboard today. It's so awesome. The response time is incredible. Here are some pictures

Here is the difference between Filco and Logitech Illuminated.

It's going to take me a while to get use to small CTRL keys but all good.

Love the sound of cherry browns too. Again, response time is unbelievable.

    Looks good mate

Funny you mention the 'small' Ctrl keys- I'm pretty sure you'll find they are the standard size. The Logitech ones look overly large.

Quick question about the Shines, is it possible to completely turn off the backlight? I need a new keyboard at work.

Yes you can. There's about three dim levels, wasd and off mode

I borrowed my bro's browns for work and it drove everyone nuts. Ordered my own in blues yesterday. :)

OK sweet. Ill order one this evening when I get home (hopefully they haven't sold out by then!)

I carry my Filco with browns to work each day atm, I just said that I get RSI problems when using the normal rubberdomes, that seemed to work :p

Does anyone know if any shops in Melbourne sell filco?
I've somehow convinced myself that I want need to buy a new keyboard, I would rather buy it in person if possible than order over the internet.

    Ah thats disappointing.
I'm on the other side of town, but thanks for the offer. It was the blues I was after.

Incidentally there's a centrecom about 10 minutes from here which stock the quickfire, and at $95 thats a significant discount to the filco, but man that thing looks terrible.

Ive used how many Mech Adam? 6 or so. Comparing the Ducky Blue to the Filco Blue the Filco was much lighter to type on. I found the Filco that tad bit better.

Although I'm now used to my ducky, get those black etched keys today i hope!

Meh. All this talk of Filco, Quickfire, Ducky etc makes me want to post a pic of a 'real' keyboard:

    /end pretend elitism ;)

Just arrived in the mail, a 1986 Model M. In terms of cosmetics it is in even better condition than my first one (still fairly dirty though). There is a small 'rattle' on the inside which may be a broken plastic rivet (fairly common for this age board) in which case I may take the plunge and attempt a bolt-mod.
