    Cheers for the tip!

Didn't realise there were 300mL bottles of Hibiki too. Do they also come in the cool decanter style bottles? Such a nice bottle.

    Cheers,
    - Febs.

Ah, just checked their website and I can see why I didn't know about it - they're only licensed in the southern states, not QLD.

Yep, saw that. Did some reading and I'm content to let others spend their $100 on it. I think I'd rather spend my $100 on something like Laga 16, Laph 1/4 or Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban

Where did you get the Talisker Storm from?
Jura Superstition is one of my favourites. It just seems to be not too much of everything and hits a lovely pleasant drinking spot in the middle.

Was from Dan's but they had it out the back not on the shelf.

Best to check the website for stock levels at your local.

Sounds good to me. I enjoy tasting something new and I do like my aussie whiskies. It's always good to see newcomers distilling in Australia.

Great articles and review on your blog by the way. Thanks for doing those.

I haven't finished writing yet (I'm about 1/4 done, maybe a bit less, it's going to be a quite comprehensive article) but here's my haul from heading out to Yamazaki today. ;)

Yeah, age is most definitely not everything! I've tried some great 3 year old whiskies, some absolutely incredible 10 year olds, and some average 40 year olds! It really does come down to the cask(s).

Thanks. :) Glad people are enjoying it.

Like like like! Those little Hibiki bottles look so cool.

Out of curiosity, did they have the Bourbon Barrel (either 2013 or previous releases) at the distillery, and if so do you know how much they were? I've only ever seen UK pricing.

    Cheers,
    - Febs.

They did have them, but I didn't take much note of the pricing, sorry. I'm not a massive fan of the flavours that bourbon barrels impart. I might be heading out there again soonish with a friend, so I'll take a note if I am.

Had a tasting night with a friend last week, just with what we had laying about.

    This included:
    Dimple 12
    Glenfiddich 12
    Glenfiddich 18
    JW Blue
    Laphroaig 10
    Lark SM (Tasmania)
    Timboon SM (Vic)

Some interesting results! The 2 aussie's both came in our top 3, with the JW Blue unanimously being at the bottom.

Also was quite funny as my friend had never had a smoky scotch and the Laphroaig definitely caught him off guard!
