    They say to get an additional sensor if you want roomscale... so that's 3 all up..

    Yeah I have the two sensors and it is certainly awkward when you need to interact with something behind you. Been playing some Hotdogs, Horseshoes, Hand Grenades and there are some scenario's you can't really play properly because you need to be able to aim in 360 degrees. For what I wanted VR for though it is absolutely amazing!

    Hotdogs, Horseshoes, Hand Grenades was what made me get VR, its awesome fun, but I am looking at robo recall with envying eyes,

    Robo Recall is pretty sweet. I got it for free with my CV1 order. It's basically Time Crisis in VR.

    Well the current units have succeeded in their goals so I dont think its a dead fad yet, people are still buying in and I can jump into recroom or a BAM and find other players pretty reliably. :D

    Vive is getting a bunch of new accessories, Oculas just got the touch receivers. Vive may also get body tracking soon with the use of their upcoming tracking pucks. Oculas probably wont be far off.

    LG Is soon to release a StemVR head set. And Microsoft partners are coming to market with a heap for HoloLens, like Lenovo, Dell, HP and Acer.

    Bethesda's demoing Fallout 4 VR at E3, New games are released and at considered successful based on their sales, I think so far VR is doing well. Its an enthusiasts product at the moment, like the early 3D cards.

    HMD's are being sold, people who have them and generally happy, games and software are being made. The worlds turning and the tech is improving.

    The generation of hardware (CV1 and the like) was perhaps hyped up and overexerted in the interim, but VR is more real than it has ever been.

    From my point of view I think one of the major factors is that the tech still isn't there yet.
    The biggest deal breaker is the FOV is too small, this is what separates VR from a gimmick.

    I still find the immersion was FAR greater on the DK1 with only a marginally bigger FOV.

    The current FOV is like looking through a diving mask, very distracting.

    That's my 2c anyway.

    VR does have a true application with seated experiences (driving/flight sim). Everything else does feel a bit gimmicky, but it's only because every man and their dog wanted to jump on the bandwagon with VR this and that, regardless of the suitability.

    Yep racing/flying is really good for vr
    Other genres not so much maybe..
    But there's still quite a few good 'oh wow' moments out there

    Is it perfect? No..
    But do we have the hardware to run a perfect hmd? Doubtful
    For me these are a great start, but I do think there work to be done, but I'm happy with my purchase overall
    Just need more companies to jump on it (f1 2017) etc

    At the F1, Renault had a virtual reality experience (using the HTC Vive) which allowed participants to simulate a pit stop. So the technology is definitely gaining momentum.

    So I want VR for PC sit at the desk gaming.

    2 x GTX 1080 in Sli

    flight sims, racing sims and FPS

    Buy on Oculus now or wait for the next batch of stuff coming out.

    Tried a Vive and all I saw was a grid type screen low res (screen door effect) experience on project Cars in the MS Sydney store.

    You can't use SLI for VR.

    Oculus or Vive.. Both have the same low res screen door panel.

    Looks like I will be waiting then for the newer version.

    The screen door effect was horrible IMHO.

    Some games look terrible. Luckily, super sampling is available if you have a 1070+ gpu.

    Project Cars and Assetto Corsa look beautiful on my 1070 and Vive.

    Sadly, Oculus Head of Research just came out and said at least 2 more years before a refresh. Oh well. I guess itll give VR devs some time to make some real good games at least :)

    And give GPUs a snowball's chance in hell of pushing 4-5K at VR latencies and framerates.

    I got a Gear VR V2.0 and the controller, it's shit.
