do you think they'll drop the n95 8gb back to free on the $49 cap anytime soon? maybe when they release the N96?

I was hoping that situation had changed - I run a lot of Skyscape apps on my PDA at the moment, but would love to get rid of having to carry it around at work... and don't want to get S60 versions as well as Windows Mobile versions.

I would have liked for there to be a good wm6 device around at the minute. Mum was using a dopod 838pro upgraded to wm6 and was quite happy with it, but I found it annoying to use and the connectivity options were plain confusing. Add to this the fact that it's generally a slow and clunky OS, with more than its fair share of quirks, and I didn't really want to get another WM based device this time around when I'm the one that has to support it.

We switched her across to an E71 last weekend and she's been telling me all week how much she likes it even though she was initially against it for the lack of a touch screen and having to adjust to a different platform.

I spent about 2 - 3 hours fiddling around initially, and now feel pretty confident in troubleshooting any issues that might arise from it (randomly not syncing with exchange server, can't send emails, frequent call dropouts etc). Dial back 2 weeks ago and I still couldn't do the same on the wm6 mobile even after she'd had it for almost 2 years.

It's unfortunate that you've got to be tethered to a windows mobile based device, for otherwise I'd heartily recommend the E71. However, if I had to take a WM based device i'd opt for the htc touch pro or upcoming touch HD. Apparently the HD is making some strong improvements over previous WM implementations.

more chance of them dropping the N95 from the range and running with the N96 as the top line model.

Not really tethered - I'd just have to carry the PDA around at work too. Don't really like the E71 - was a bit big. Probably look at the E66 though.

I knew my choice of words would be misinterpreted! What I meant was that you've got to have your PDA on you at work in addition to your phone (creating a PITA) - as opposed to the situation where you have your PDA linked to the internet through a phone.

    My bad :p.

I have a quick question. Just signed up last week on the $29 cap.
When I check my account in planet 3, My spend since 7/9/8 is $34.03
My spend includes: Cap eligible usage is $29
Does anyone know what the extra $5.03 could possibly be? Just need a rough idea what it is so I don't rack it up even more.

Net Pack? Or data usage outside of a net pack? Video Calls?

Have you signed up for the $5 X series pack?

That would make sense, and then 3c of data used whilst roaming or something like that.

Or have you made video calls, sent emails, or accessed Planet 3 content?

IIRC Video Calls are included in the new caps...

skillz_kix_ass: could also be handset repayments?

Oh yea, new cap, yep video calls are included (at 50c per 30secs). Forgot about that.

Rough idea? That looks like pretty solid evidence to me. Bloody sponge bob.

    Prepaid launching sneaking previewing ....ing

    hey people

remember the other week when i tipped you off that 3 are gonna be launching some new prepaid hardcoreness.... well here is a tiny preview of some of the handsets that will be launching from around the 24th onwards...

    nokia 3120 (grey/white) $169
nokia 6233 (black) making a limited comeback at $199 - grab this if you want a solid handset
    SE K530i (black) $149

no goss on the prepaid plans at this stage. well... i know how much the recharges will cost, but that info is useless without the included call amounts and rates. so i will post that when i get it.

    cheers

I just got a strange sms purporting to be from three. But three sms's change the sender to +3 or simmilar. This one had a normal mobile number.

Message reads (including all the odd grammar):
    Yeah, nothing dodgy there :thumbdn:
