Old Alienware - Warning, Picture overload!

Works slow and i'm bored. so i thought i'd share my little case painting i did a couple of years back. (it's actually really shit looking back at it haha, but it was what i wanted, so i did it)

anyway.

a friend was throwing away an old alienware computer that died on him and i took it off his hands, components were shit so they must have been harvested and replaced with crap previously. but at the time i thought the case was pretty cool.


this is it with the side covers off - crappy blue colour had to go.


i just went down to bunnings and bought some fine sandpaper and basic spraypaints.












meanwhile my computer was looking like this (notice temporary front of case that was taken from the old case i had)

in the end, it looked like this.






I also purchased a new Mobo, CPU and Ram. GFX was kept from old PC


after a few months i got seriously bored of it - it was so huge and clunky, also crappy for airflow.

so i bought this


and destroyed the alien


aaaaaaaand then eventually bought more better components - including a 27" lcd.

orig AW case was fugly and that yellow/orange one was only slightly better

try throwing some fire on it

 

the chassis was actually the only good part about the case. sadly i was holding a sledge hammer and tripped and mangled it.

 

I'm with ^. This was a classic shell, and I dunno what you've done but it looks like some Antec "Balls" x00 now.

 

I mainly asked in case it was still ok as i have enough spare panels to make another whole one, Bugga.

What ever that black case is, it looks like arse next to the curvy alienware. What is all that garbage on the front of it? fan holders?

 

not sure why you'd destroy something just because it wasn't required anymore... surely someone here would have taken it off your hands

i just killed my atomic vento after 6 yrs of faithful service
it was the same deal, plastic bodywork on basic steel case

the new case? they are fans, i mainly got it for it's expandability and airflow.

i wasn't on ocau when i did this and i'm also not a hoarder. offered it to a few friends but no one wanted it.

 

Not a bad job in the end but not a fan of bright orange.

I've seen probably 50 on gumtree in adelaide alone since i bought this. they are crap. go get one for $25 you bum.

ignore the others who cry about you smashing it, did you enjoy tripping over with a hammer and landing on the case?

at the end of the day, you do what YOU want to do and not what others think you should do or should have done.

Momentarily amusing thread.

Hating on my Raven-01 right now, same shit... steel covered in cartloads of plastic. I still like the, um..... "distinctive" look of it but it weighs a tonne and is a PITA to work in.
But it cost me like $220, is only two years old, and I put a lot of effort into modding it for water (which means it's worth precisely SFA on the sale forums ).

I'd throw it on the ground from my second-story window, but I live next to a main road and that beast would seriously fuck someone's shit right up if it fell through their windscreen...
