It is one of the best I have no idea what they are smoking. Arnies leather jacket in some scenes is so bloody clear I can see every grain and wrinkle in the leather.

    We're back to this, hey?

Yeah, look, it's a great 4K presentation based on an excellent scan, but they fucking killed the look of the film. The colour grade is whack and the DNR has turned everyone into plastic dolls. That version of the film just doesn't look like Terminator 2 anymore.

I mean, look at the skin here. It's ridiculous.

And here's what I mean about the colour grade....for no discernable reason, half the film is fucking blue.

So I had a look at what I have here, it's the VC1 encoded blu.
And its a fucking master piece.
This is the version i considered as the "remaster", not the cash grab 4k release.

This does explain a bit of why we've been talking past each other!

didn't know you were no longer allowed to like a movie if it has a bad sequel.

Oh yeah? What do you classify as "soon"?

And while you're explaining that, tell me how you think they'll get around ageing LED colour drift problems.

It was not a cash grab, it showed in cinemas for 1 day. I saw it with 10 people and we were blown away, it was like a whole new movie and James Cameron said if it didn’t break even, he wouldn’t do more so you can kiss an Aliens remaster goodbye.

It was a 4K remastered release, no idea what the resolution was at cinemas bit it was the new laser projectors at VMAX. Regardless, the restoration was vastly better than previous efforts.

It did ok I think aside from only being shown for one day which was a train wreck going to happen regardless.

Aliens was James Cameron, Alien was Ridley Scott.

Finally lashed out for a 55" B8, a hair over $1600 delivered with an eBay code....in the end the 9 series didn't deliver anything I really care about.

Just got mine the other day and set It up... lg ui is very nice.. much better and faster than Panasonic. I cannot notice a difference really in pq between them. Oled are king in pq... hould last another 5 years before microleds are affordable. can't wait to see how good micro leds are.

Anyone know how to stop that freeview banner showing up all the time?
