Is the AF really fast in this in low light?

Digital rev has just posted a shoot out between the EM-5, Nex 7, and the X-Poo1. Posting from phone so can't link but sure someone will.

Btw, should be in stores at the end of the week. Getting excited :)

I had a look at 1 in Ted's today and I really do not think I like it. I was going to go this way and was super excited by this camera but now since I have seen one and played with it I must be honest and say I just do not like it. I think it is too small.

I have decided now since looking at this camera I will look at going the Nikon DSLR path instead. :(

Well, is that a bad thing? The PENs are actually not a bad camera at all. I was keen to get one to replace my Canon when I sold it last year. Now I'm considering the OM-D with the key selling points being the weatherproofing, AF speed, size, 9fps.

Noise over ISO 3200 is definitely an issue that will put most pro photographers off, but I'm certainly not a pro photographer. A fast lens like one of the panny primes should obviate that most of the time, and as I want something portable, that's what I'm considering mating it to most of the time.

The price point is a bit high, as you can get get quite a lot these days for $1500, before glass. Kind of wondering why I don't just get an xz-1 and pocket the grand difference.

Picked up a kit last night (Black body with 12-50mm lens)

Initial thoughts, it's tiny, super fast AF and very cool :D
Can't wait to get a little pancake lens on it!

Couple of quick snaps from today -

Can someone direct me to a set taken with the OM-D that'll persuade me to buy this over the XPoo?

Had a play with one tonight and I really like it, but I keep seeing sets from the Fuji that make me drool, and can't seem to find anything like it from the Olympus.

I doubt you will. I would only buy the Oly over the Fuji if you want to use it for street or anything where good fast (read:working) focusing is necessary. Also where compact size matters. Don't care what any fanboy says, the Fuji has focusing issues and looks like a brick. If you can get over that and if it has to be one or the other, go the Fuji as the IQ is better. Personally, if I was considering the Fuji over the Oly I would prefer to just go with a dslr instead.

For posting small images online the Oly is plenty good enough.

    Two words: zone focus.

Now just imagine if the X-Pro1 had the AF speed of the OMD, or the OMD had the IQ of the Fuji...

    wouldnt that be something? :)
unfortunately no camera has it all, so you have to understand what your real needs are and pick the set of compromises that suits you, not some knob reviewer on the internetz
it usually takes around 3-4 wrong cameras to develop that skill :D
