i have played with one and i have to say i can't wait to grab one. Cyanogenmod is pretty nice to use for a novice android user and i hate being restricted to samsungs version of android. My only question i have is can i side load the samsung gear manager to continue to use my gear watch. Even at the inflated aussie prices they are still way cheaper than an outright note 3, and most other phones of that size.

Well I got emailed my invite yesterday for being an early forum member/contributor but the invites are not valid for use by Australians (trying to order from US, both Australian CCs and addresses are rejected).
Not that I would have bought it, I was sucked in by the "5.5inch phone in the body of a 5inch phone" line and the promise of best screen:body ratio which all turned out to be flat-out lies.

Was recently keen on the Huawei Honor 6, but found out it won't work on Telstra LTE, so now waiting for the Samsung Galaxy F ('Prime') to be released in the hope the price of the S5 will drop.

I did think about it, but they've tried to stop that by making unused invites expire after 24hrs.

Invites only last 24hrs....would have to be quick.
And what are you going to do, you need to use a freight forwarding service to get it here, adding more cost because the official sellers won't ship outside the official release countries.

The Huawei Honor 6 is looking like a great alternative.

Some of us have friends in the US. No need for a freight forwarder...

For a phone that's not yet officially available to the Australian market, I don't like the idea of vouching for this, since if the battery breaks, it'll be a PITA to do RMA.

Sorry if this is considered trolling or off-topic, but I'd rather wait for the Phonebloks phone to get some traction.

The promo video was pointless, as to me it just reminded me of the HTC One.

It is a very nice phone. I'm as happy with it as I would be for a note 3. It is barely smaller in the hand but also not noticeably smaller screen either. Very fast, battery seems good on first impressions.

Will be my main phone for the next two years. The girlfriend has phone envy so that is where one invite is going.

That was me...ordered yesterday, shipped (to a US forwarder that I use regularly) today.

Tiny bit worried about the size, but I guess it'll be easy enough to find someone to swap if it doesn't pan out.

$349USD + $14.34USD postage to the forwarder, conversion at PayPal rates came to $401 AUD.

I'll have a few other things forwarded at the same time, so I'm not gonna add the full cost of the shipping forwarder to that - suffice to say that it will be a bit less than a 32GB Nexus 5 by the time it gets to this country.

If anyones interested DWI has the 16gb for $399AU and the 64gb for $479AU delivered. Might be abit easier for Warranty.
