Just got around to processing a few shots from Osaka Aquarium. So many interesting exhibits. Makes Melbourne Aquarium look like a backyard pond :p

Getting decent focus on the rapidly moving jellyfish was quite challenging in the low light. Must resist the temptation to upgrade to the next 5D or 7DII...

One thing I noticed was that there was often a lot of distortion and blur with the photo in camera when shooting through the glass/perspex at an angle (or with curved glass), even if it looked ok with the naked eye. This got me wondering about whether the distortion is enhanced by the optics in the lens or if our brains just correct what we see

Thanks everyone. I was in Osaka about 3 weeks ago. Wasn't able to spend as much time in the aquarium as I would have liked since we had a pretty packed itinerary that day.

Awesome! I'm very impressed at how they turned out given the ISO levels too!

Glad to be of use :D

I'm not sure what the white bits at the centre of the jellyfish are. In this shot it looks like how I'd imagine some kind of fusion reactor. In my other in focus shots, they look more like little sperm :p
