    hi all

long story, i switched over to NBN this morning

all was well, but my main IMAP email in Outlook wasn't sending outgoing mail

i was trying to fix this issue, when Optus told me to remove that email account and re-create it

so i did, and now when i go back into Outlook, all of my calendar items are now gone

i used to have a couple of calendars from what i can remember, one was Calendar (this computer only) or something like that

now the only calendar that is available is one connected to another Exchange email address

is there any way to get my old calendar items back?

it's freaking me out, as i now have no idea what's coming up

    all help appreciated!

    second issue

i tried to create a new calendar, but it's linking itself to one of my Exchange based email addresses, not my main IMAP email address

how do i create a new calendar linked to my main IMAP email address?

Bugger... sure it's not in a locally stored backup pst?

They should have mentioned this before telling you to delete the account... bloody Optus.

i've tried looking for a back up, but from what i've read on Google, i'm stuffed

absolutely they should have told me this would happen! i've had a gut full of Optus already, but now have a 3 year contract :(

Yeah sounds like it's sync'd and overwritten... tbh it would be sitting in some cache file, but will be hard to find. You could try a data recovery program as often they group certain types on file chains together.

Outlook caches everything in a local PST/OST file. search for that.

i found the folder with all the OST files, but it only had one for the new email account i just added (as it was the same email address and settings as the old one)

i've come to terms with it now, if i do get it back it will be a bonus, but not holding my breath

    thanks team!

Any chance you can Right Click your OST folder to see if the Previous Versions tab is active?
