hi all im just wondering is there a way to receive Outlook new message alerts without having the program in the taskbar? either having the program open with a system tray icon or the program closed would be better. Had a look in the settings but couldnt find anything. This is the office 2007 version of outlook. Thanks all

right click on the outlook icon in the icon tray when outlook is open,
    select hide when minimized.

If you're pulling mail from a pop3 mailserver, use something like PopTray to alert you when email arrives.

    Cheers,
