After some advice on painting watercooling rads. Anyone done so before?
Aside from covering up the in/out as well as the fins, is it necessary to sand/primer the surface? Or better to strip back the old paint and then fresh coat?

Also, after the colour coat, it is advisiable to seal with a coat of clear?

I did one a while back for a case mod... i honestly just gave the tanks a wipe over with metho taped up the core and hose fittings...

I don't see the difference on solid colours from adding clear or just an extra coat of the colour. But if your using a 2k clear that that may give you some xtra scratch proofing.

Yeah I ended up giving the rads a light rub with 800 grit, then painted them up any they come up okay.
    Cheers for the info!

Great to hear  eventually the 800 will show scratches in the can paint.... next time if you feel the need to scuff the paint, just use some light scotch bright pad
