    where? what? how?
yes...ive still got the LG in mind. has some pretty good results imo. in terms of response/overshoot and refresh. i dont see any other contenders right now.

i dont think the contrast will be an issue for me. especially compared to what ive had for the last 10 yrs :D

I've seen the ASUS VG279Q go for $424.15 on Ebay 20% off sale.. there's a new sale starting in 2 days * that's the monitor I've decided to get after weeks of reading and watching reviews.
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/482815 <-- new sale starting soon add to cart with ebay and at checkout you can apply code for 20% off
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/481175 <--- this was for the old sale i posted.

There was this monitor if you wanted the best of the best. its the latest and greatest :)
    LG UltraGear 27GL850 27" 144Hz QHD 1ms HDR10 G-Sync Nano IPS Monitor
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/481285 - may came back on ebay sale in 2 days
if i wanted the best i would get this but dont have the graphics card to run QHD at more then 60FPS so FHD on the ASUS VG279Q is just right for 144FPS gaming

If you wanted cheap and large there's always something like this
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/AOC-32-...AU_StandardDelivery!2065!AU!-1&frcectupt=true

its QHD IPS but only 75Hz (75FPS) :) not that you would get the latest and greatest games to run much more then 75FPS at QHD anyways "wait for sale in 2 days to grab it cheaper"

Cool list, yeah you have to factor inflation go back further and its even scarier.

Our first system at home was over 4k

    Pentium 120
    16 MB Ram
    4.7gb HDD
    15" Fishbowl
    Some random 1mb 2D card?
    Beige case
Hex speed CD ROM (yup none of this slow 2X)
    Windows 95

Played the original need for speed and typed letters like a boss.

Haha yep had Carmageddon on that same system too, many many hours spent on that. Also spent countless hours waiting for Fallout1+2 to load each new place, needed more ram so just flogged the HDD to death but I wanted to keep playing so bad I just waited. Think Diablo was on that rig too.

I bought my first computer from arc Penrith! It would have been right around this time too. I used to love looking over those price lists.
