    Hi Guys

I restarted my PC today, and now it wont boot.

    Restarted.
Froze on BIOS screen, before memory check.
Took out all but 1 memory stick. Same Issue
Swapped memory sticks around. Same Issue.
Mobo shows error code on LED 52 "Test all memory above 1MB in virtual 8086 mode"

Changed GFX card slot. Now PC wont show anything onscreen.
Tried new GFX card. Same as above.
Mobo shows LED number 69 as an error code. 69 Init Cache Controller.

Sounds to me like the MOBO is gone? This couldnt have happened at the worst time!!!

    Specs as follows:
    Gigabyte ex58 ud3 mobo
    ddr3 6gm ram corsair xms3
    i7 920 cpu
    520wat psu

    Ideas?

    (see update below #9)

Error 69: Your CPU is upside down; please consult the Karma Sutra :p

Are you getting a POST beep?
Have you tried the onboard VGA port?

disconnect all the hdd's and give it a go. if it works it'll cut out complaining that there is no OS to be found, but its progress.

Well it was solved. Now it back to its old tricks.

I managed to get it to start the other day, no idea how. just by tinkering, then it worked.
I put everything back together and used it for a few days.

I then reset the computer today, and its back to the same old issue.

Freezes on POST screen, error 52 on onboard LED.

Ive also swapped power supplies, same issue.
I have also tried unplugging all hdd's and unesscery components.

    Im lost!

Ive actually ripped the whole computer apart and rebuilt it. Cleaning as i went.
I even washed the CPU heatsink because it was extremely dusty. I even swapped the fan for it, because it was getting stiff to spin.

    /noob

Would a dead battery cause this?
Ie: BIOS not getting saved, etc?

I think is a CPU problem not the mobo...

    Overclock much?

    Maybe, but very unlikely.

Is it possible there is a short on the mobo/case or something? I have already pulled the whole thing apart and put it back together, so i think this is unlikely.

How can i determine if it is Mobo V Cpu? Besides swapping with known good components. Id hate to buy a new CPU only to have it be the Mobo.

CPU was only overclocked ever so slightly for a few months when i first got it. But its been stock for a year since then.

Is RAM definitely not the cause? I have swapped all the ram around. But could all 3 sticks be faulty? or highly unlikely?

    Anything is possible...lol

I would dissemble everything again and check for damage or unusual things. Especially
CPU, inside and around CPU socket.

Maybe someone from OCAU can lend you a CPU. Where are you located?

If only troubleshooting PC's was easy.

Yep i guess next step is to reassemble outside of the case.
    Will check for damage etc.

    INTERESTING DEVELOPMENT

    It On.

I just let it run through its power-on, stall, restart process and left it. Walk back in the room and its on.

So in light of this, with the computer on. What can i do to test the components?

    Not sure...

One of the soldering joints on the mobo, maybe...

When cold its not connecting, but with flow of electrons it expands.
