my fat ass is a large, and i think i got the second to last one there in the city
I didn't even know!
While I appreciate you guys trying to steer me toward getting it, I've unfortunately just spent $400 on the wife's Christmas/birthday present. No more money left. I'm pretty sure I'd like the FA77 too...
May have visit to a Tokyo Uniqlo store when there in a couple of weeks and get me a nerd shirt...
Couple of images with my DA40mmLtd pancake macro tube setup.
Nice. Still going to try to sell mine and the DFA100. Just don't use it much.
Is it wide open or are you using 'A' tubes ?
oh well I'm sure the 31 eases your distress
Pentax has released a few demo shots of FF:
My new lens arrived today, damn this thing is quiet - and so much cheaper when buying it directly via the Pentax Australia/CRK store compared to any local stores in Melbourne, saved myself over $250. Going to have to spend some time testing it out this week.
so the distributor is shafting its outlets...bizare
wish we had that over here
Yeah, I paid $969 with no postage cost to have it delivered. Two other stores in NSW had it listed for a similar price but would have charged postage. The rest of them are listing it for $1250 - $1550 which is super whack to me.
Grabbed some shots yesterday afternoon which I've processed, just some exposure adjustments for the most part. Loving this thing on the K3II already, not sure where the 30cm minimum focus distance is supposed to be measured from - is it the socket at the camera or the end of the lens? Because I took multiple shots including one of my hand were the object being photographed was less than 15cm away from the front of the lens. Like this first one for example - full size 6000x4000 shots are on Flickr if you want to click through.
F4.5 50mm 1/500 ISO 100 center focus point
F4.0 16mm 1/500 ISO 100 bottom focus point
F2.8 16mm 1/750 ISO 100
F2.8 50mm 1/500 ISO 100
F2.8 50mm 1/3000 ISO 100
F5.6 16mm 1/3000 ISO 100
That looks like a keeper
nice how 50mm wide open(pic 4) has no fringing
or in NewZild....$au1,680 sigh
MFD is usually measured in terms of distance from the sensor. On right of your K-3's viewfinder and to the left of the top LCD, there should be a white mark which looks like a circle with a line running though it; that marks the position of the sensor. So the MFD is 30cm from that mark.
Super helpful! I've always wondered how this worked and what that icon was for.
far out, another feature ! I had never even spotted that symbol.
It's called the Plimsoll Line...since they stole it from the shipbuilding industry, anyway: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waterline
You might have noticed that it didn't turn up on older DSLRs - generally, it only appeared once video on DSLRs became a thing. For accurate manual focus-pulling, you need to know exactly where the lens is focusing.
Granted, a lot of even older cameras use to have them, like old-school rangefinders when used for macro.
I love my FA 77mm f1.8 but curious to see what this new version will offer.
You referring to • Lens used: HD PENTAX-FA 77mm F1.8 Limited?
probably a typo... at most put a new coating and and red ring around it.
wouldn't hold your breath...
will still love my 77 no matter what.
Yup...thats what I'm referring too.
Don't imagine it's a typo. New coating ? Yeah a given. Red ring? Yeah that too Just wondering what else though.
Weather sealing or maybe even a smaller min focus would make me grab one.
