this looks pretty nice, guess its an A7R sensor (which is fantastic) given the MP and sony developed.

Looks to be pretty good feature set, and as mentioned its a stills camera and knows it.
The propery articulating screen is something i love on my A99/A77 (and miss on the A7x series) so good work there too. Does look a bit complex though so interested to see how it wears.

Image-averaging noise reduction is awesome too, great innovation.

GPS + wifi - tick. Cool that it can be used to minimise star trails.

    Price is good too!

    Hah!

Still have all my Pentax gear, (including your old 77mm ltd), and it's all covered in a thick layer of dust. :)

Lost all passion for photography a few years back but never say never.

    Edit:
Only just noticed the sample images at DPR as well.

This new pentax FF camera is essentially a d810 is it not?

    Does the D810 have:
    - dual memory card slots
    - 5-axis image stabilisation
    - Multi-shot Pixel Shift Resolution mode
    - Built-in GPS, Electronic Compass and Astrotracer?

No, which is also the answer to your question.

Not to mention the sensor has most likely had upgrades made to it since the introduction of its 42MP replacement that offered similar performance with higher density and the stabilisation...

I am very interested in this camera, hopefully metabones do an adapter for Canon glass, seems to be a trend these days

DPREVIEW images seem decent, detail is outstanding, noise is a bit heavy but grain seems natural and not distracting and obviously no NR yet.

I am not sure if are joking about the metabones thing, but you know that you can't make a Canon to Pentax K mount adaptor right?

Why? I know there is the flange distance issue but Metabones haves worked around these issues with corrective optics already on other platforms.

While I like this camera there is no way in hell ill buy into the Pentax FF system 1st generation. There are no guarantees they will do another or that it will be DSLR. Samsung NX1 was a good example of how quick things can go south these days.

There is currently now way of making an adaptor for a lens designed with a shorter flange distance onto a mount with a longer one.

yeah, you can adapt pretty much anything to a sony as its registration distance is so small, most other lenses are larger.
    Doesnt work in reverse!

I am so getting this camera! Looks fantastic, the specs are awesome and oh what a price! It can only get cheaper! :D

I love the creative ways Pentax use their inbuilt stabilisation; pixel shift, AA simulation, shake reduction, horizon correction, astrotracer - have I missed anything?

edit; a sample image. Zoom in - the detail is amazing!

Just keep in mind that most of their old glass wont be remotely up to the task when it comes to this sensors resolution.
