I picked up this cool little accessory in Japan the other day.

Its a camera mount that sits tightly over a standard PET bottle cap. The camera can be angled up or down a few degrees.
I suppose the weight of the bottle would make it more stable than a regular mini-tripod.

What a clever idea. Handy for the lighter cameras around.

Those Japanese guy's are crazy. I love the name "Mathew's Best Hit Soda", how do you get that name for a drink with a tripod mount on it?

Anyway, quite amusing and definately a collectable in my books.

That is the same Mathew that was the TV host in the film "Lost in Translation".

Must be a major celebrity to have his own softdrink .

I dont think we will ever see a Daryl Somers brand soft drink on the Australian Market ;-)

    Purchased???
Satisfy the inner geek and mod your own Coke bottle!!!
Details are available for a DIY Bottle Cap Tripod. Google brings up other versions as well.

No need for a group buy on this one.

Sweet Jesus! Looks like another DIY project (read: Excuse to go to bunnings) for this weekend!

    :D

Why didn't I think of that? *sigh* too many early mornings.

I wouldn't think this would be very stable, I wouldn't trust a digital or any camera on that thing. I'd rather save for a real mini tripod.

Embrace your inner geek! It's a toy more than anything, or a stop-gap solution for a consumer camera.

I have a dicky little 3.2mp Kodak consumer camera which would work well with this.

what an awesome idea! i'd definitely want to use a 2L bottle for a bigger base though for some more stability though.
