Can someone that has this monitor try the "Horizontal Split", "Horizontal Split Top" or "Horizontal Split Bottom" from page 26 to 29 of the manual?

    http://download.p4c.philips.com/files/b/bdm4065uc_75/bdm4065uc_75_dfu_aen.pdf

Specially with a game like Elite Dangerous running in the large partition?

That would have an area equivalent of 2x20" 1080p monitors side by side without bezels for the game and the rest for browsers and other programs.

Oh what i didn't know the display could do that. If it works as advertised this would be a rad feature!

Yes, from what I understand you can even have it connected to 4 different sources and have them display at the same time. Each one at 1080p.

i'd like to know the answer to this as well : )
That is very kool. I'd prob use it just for windows but I can see how lots of ppl would find some handy uses for that feature.

What will you get instead? Are any companies making panels like the Philips?

seems like a few members here and other forums were tossing up between this and the Dell curved 34"...such a delay with stock is great news for Dell in those instances.

Not sure yet, looking at a couple of 4K monitors from DELL including their 5K one. Not a huge fan of the size for 4K though would prefer a bigger screen. Really cant be bothered waiting 6 weeks regardless for a monitor lol.

I actually contacted the distributor for Philips monitors in Australia, and this was their reply:

And this when I asked about new stock:

Hopefully some stores will get stock from overseas?

That might be for retail chains, ple, pccasegear and the like must have sourced stock from somewhere else as that lead time would put them into late march for restock.

Sure, but it's doesn't look good in general, stock wise. It seems to be out of stock in most stores overseas too.

You're right it does appear to also be sold out overseas. I guess either a good sign for demand and or like a couple of the higher end monitors they are struggling with supply.

Just got this back from Philips fwiw

    Hi Osir1s;

The first shipment looks to be sold out everywhere now.
Retailers are taking pre-order for the second shipment due in mid-Feb.
It looks like the second shipment will be pre-sold to arrival so I would recommend pre-ordering now for Feb. or waiting until March/April for stock to catch up with demand.

Bugger hey. That is a fair old while.
Me either. I like the idea of a big screen with reasonable DPI.

Anyone actually got one? If so would love to know if anyone is doing photoshop work on them.

    There is a god...

Had a chat to PCCG and they said they had 2 pallets of them initially, huge demand. Will compare it to my U2711 and Cinema Display before I sell them off :D

Just need to get it mounted on my desk now.

How did you get in the order, or did you have a trick up your sleeve when they ran out on the PCCG site?

They opened up the site to preorders this morning and i put an order in hoping whoever outdid me yesterday would cancel their order which seems to happen alot since they dont take deposits.
