I'd imagine a few of the bumps/cambers might cause problems for an F1

there was talk that lowndes was going to drive it. At least they're still going ahead with the F1 around there. Will be interesting watching him try to get it around the dipper & forest elbow

He is Nismo, both Button & Lowndes will be driving it. Aswell as the V8, which will be the rides car again.

Should be fun to watch. I won't be there in the flesh, but will see it on TV/Web no doubt. Would be hard for an F1 i'd reckon, plenty of F1 drifting :D

It will be a promo/video shoot run done at maximum ride height on grooved tyres ... you will not see any real attempts at setting a fastest lap. That said, an F1 car just wouldn't work at all around Mt Panorama if it was really trying. It would have no wings left by the time it came back to the pits. :wired:

I think they will be ensuring that the F1 car laps Bathurst faster than any V8 supercar has to date. Just to prove a point.
Def will not be a balls out attempt at seeing just how fast an F1 car can get around but there is not way they would allow the V8 supercar crowd to have the bragging rights.

What point would that prove? It's obvious to everyone that an F1 can do it faster.

What they should do to prove a point, is to put an SS commodore (or GTS or whatever that top model is) around bathurst, to prove that they arn't race cars... And they are not "just like a V8 Super cars, but with indicators and cruise control"

my bet is the F1 will get air on the dipper and glide all the way down conrod!

IF it makes it up the mountain!
i'm guessing the suspension will be jacked right up, making the F1 "loose"

Ha! That'd be pretty funny. I enjoy both, so it's no issue to me, but would be amusing to watch the die-hards piss on each other on forums.

aww that brings back memories. Almost shed a tear when brocky's face came on the screen :p

interesting note: the standard commodore was on road tyres & the race cars on slicks. I reckon the stock car would've been a lot quicker if it had slicks on too.

Bathurst is much too rough for an F1 to actually get a time that they are capable of, I'm guessing he will loose it at least once through the chase as the braking point is heavily corrugated due to heat

Looking forward to this, not quite the same but brings back memories of Mark Webber driving over the harbour bridge. The sound echoing over the harbour was insane!
