Just a heads up, the USS Kitty Hawk, the aircraft carrier, will be docking in Sydney from tomorrow till next Tuesday. Should be good for taking a couple photos of as long as it doesn't get stuck on a beach outside Newcastle on its way in.

I dunno, maybe the captain could get *really* confused.

Anyone know how close it will be for us to be able to take photos of it. I managed to get on board this ship a few years ago and I have to say that its deck and hanger are HUGH:shock: . Can dig up some photos if anyone is interested.

    Nah,..

This is a male dominated technology forum. This particular corner of it is focused (HA! PUN!) on photography.

I think it's safe that I speak for all of us when I say that we certainly wouldn't be interested in on board or behind the scene shots of one of the biggest boy-toys on the planet.

    Thanks anyway

    :D

Well unfortunately I made a mistake. The shots I have were while I was on board the USS Constellation which is in the Kitty Hawk class so its pretty much the same ship. The shots are also film so I'll scan em.

Area around Cremorne Point/Reserve looks like a good spot. Otherwise Mrs Macs Point seems like the only vantage points.

WARNING: all areas around there are clearways and authorities will tow your car if its in a clearway.

Lots of pissed off people today as a result. It will continue for the next 7 days.

I'm taking my camera gear to work with me tomorrow. Hopefully I can get some shots during lunch time.

just thinking a little - this is probably going to be the last time that a us carrier comes into sydney harbour..... the kitty hawk, the last non-nuke powered carrier is being decommissioned soon and the city of sydney has a no-nuke policy in sydney harbour. be a shame though.......
