I generally use fireworks, i've never touched photoshop because it looks so damn complex!

but even with fireworks i only do very very very basic sort of stuff..

i was after some help with how you get some really cool looking graphics in photoshop and fireworks, if it does what i'm after!

the sorts of things you find on winamp skins ..
    for instance

it's one of the site they used in reference sites in one of the muiltmedia classes i did back in 2000

where we had to make-up a interface, i ended up leave cause it was affecting my normal school work

although the site design is getting old (eyeball design site)

will help you to do those interfaces. Believe it or not, they're not difficult to do.

I think Da Man of this forum and the bloke to ask all these 'Shop questions at is Whitney Ford. I could help you out, being a graphics semi-professional myself, but unlike Mike, I can't be arsed :D

    Cheers,

    E

Is there a gradient mesh tool in photoshop? I've never tried to do stuff like that with it. We are learning Illustrator at uni atm and have been using the gradient mesh a lot to make stuff look 3d like that.

    Yep.
It's far better and quicker to design things like that in Adobe Illustrator, and then move it into photoshop for the final touches and finishing effects
