I watched a film at New Farm Cinemas yesterday and when I came out I noticed they had a number of pinball machines there. Now I mis-spent a significant portion of my youth on these things.. my particular favourite from my Uni days being the Addams family table.

And lo and behold.. over there was.. that very machine !

    Coins out, lets play.

OK I'm rubbish, but I still had fun. 'twas a shame though that this particular table appears to need some TLC, a lot of the lights on the base were not working, and the flippers seemed to be a bit 'gutless' compared to what they should be - making attacking the ramps a bit more difficult than it should be.

But as I said, I enjoyed it anyway. I'm quite sure that I can't afford my own machine (other more pressing expenses at hand) but if anyone knows of good places in Brissie (esp Northside) that have a number of machines to play, please share !

Adams Family good, prefer a good Black Night myself. Both were bastards to work on though...

There's supposed to be be a place over on the eastern side near Capalaba that has pinnies, mate of mine has a few himself and he mumbled something a while ago about (ir)regular closed shop pinball nights for Those In The Know.

Thanks I'll definitely have to check out that netherworld !

I see they have Addams Family and also Terminator 2: Judgement Day which was probably the other main machine around the place in my Uni days.

It's not the same thing as "real life" but have you ever played pinball on the computer?

I loved The Flinstones back in the day. Computer pinball misses out on the most important skill so its useless.

Yeah, but it gets bloody expensive if/when you belt the side of it hard enough to activate the Tilt warning...
