I have just got back today from Canberra after speaking at a conference. I managed to get out to shoot once during the 3 days I was there. I headed to Parliament House at twilight and got this shot. Let me know what you think. C&C Welcome! Place of Power and Influence by Martin Canning, on Flickr Thanks, Martin
Lovely composition, you've made something that is a bit stale in my mind revitalised. Although the people inside, still the same.
Something something drop shadow something something. Seriously though, nice shot. The colour combination just works and the composition is excellent.
Yeah, that was more a jest at Martin and a dig at people who make the comment about the drop shadow. I've seen threads Martin has started with an amazing photo included and the only comments made at all are about the shadow. He's a mate, someone I know personally—he takes amazing photos and when the only thing people can come up with is about a drop shadow it's a little discouraging. Everyone has their own style in presenting a photo and I just don't think any comment on that is necessary. It would be like visiting the Louvre and only making comment about the frames—who cares, and why is it relevant!? (I apologise for the spray, it's not directly specifically at you)
Thanks guys. I ignore the drop shadow comments these days. If you don't like it then view on white. I put it on my Flickr shots as I think they look better on Flickr with them. Maybe some day I will change but at the moments that's how I like it. I have my final Uni exam on Saturday so hoping to get out a do a bit more shooting in the next few months before my first child is born in April =D Thanks again for the comments. Martin
Lovely photo mate. Regarding drop shadow, I use the same framing style for all my photos too. Prior to my gallery crashing that is lol. 7 pixels out, and apply drop shadow.
