Spent the day building a shelf/table and storage shelves in an effort to re-layout my gaming room.

The console section, outside some cable work and hiding via backboards is complete.

Will work on the arcade and computer parts of the room over the next week, work taking longer than expected.

Progress below, waiting for a different remote for the SF-1 to adjust the picture.

VFX-1 spotted, whats the history with that? I had one years ago but only really got it working a few times with Quake.

breech a fellow present or past owner of one is rare.

I have always been interested in VR, so early headsets are something I have chased. I also have a HMD Dynovisor boxed that I have hooked up to the Jaguar for VR.

Not that long ago, I managed to track down one down in great condition and boxed. The only issue was the ISA card was not with it, so got it for something like $20 from memory.

    How was it for Quake?

Fair enough, I sold mine on here, unfortunately I don't think it ever showed up at the other end.

It was very blocky and low res, and not particularly immersive. The head tracking was slow and innaccurate and you would probably need to visit the chiro if you tried to use it for any decent length of time :p
The LCDs were quite good for the time, no artefacts or stripes but definitely colour limited and a bit bloomy, audio was also good. The puck controller thing was useless.

I got a little hyper focused on finishing my Retro Game Room re-layout.

So made it a priority over the last two nights to get it more complete.

I have a few more things to do with it this time around but happy with how the room layout is more defined and usable than before.

wow, just took a stroll through some of those rooms.. amazing work guys, and some really nice ideas for everyone to share. Thank you.
Apparently ive just been told by the minister of War and Finance, that her mum is coming to stay for an extended period of time. (which prob means anywhere more than 3 months or so), so cant have her nicking my kids bed and having to have Jax and Indi share.. So will need to do some restructuring.

Looks like the missus has given the go ahead for the biggest bedroom in the house to become the Spare/gaming/simming/modding room.

    stay tuned!

As the year comes to a close, I have done some work to clean up and organise the game room.

Thought I would share the results here, gee it was a bit of a blast seeing my room in a post above 18months ago to what it is now.

Have a few retro Apple items in my office that have now moved from this space, like my Apple IIc and Apple Studio CRT.

My recent and 2026 focus is quality over quantity, when it comes to additions.

Thanks! I am particularly pleased converting one of the shelves into a matching TV stand.

I realize I also forgot to show the open cupboard

Or the absurd amount of lighting, it took me 2 days to get the lighting all tied in:

Amazing setup! Do you have a night-time shot with just that striplighting turned on?
