I got the demo CD for this with my first computer seventeen years ago and am now playing the full game in glorious 3440 x 1440.

The witness supports Ansel if you want to get some uber res or 360 shots.

Freespace 2, for a game that old it looks damn good at that resolution. Just the fact it lets you use that resolution full stop is impressive enough.

I got this with that humble bundle, fired it up and so far I don't really get it, just lots of maze puzzles.. I guess I'll hang in there cause everyone raves about it.

You need to do the areas in order because every puzzle gives you knowledge for the next area or puzzle. Its great but after a few areas i just got bored. Not really my type of game though.

That's a classic! There's something about those days of grabbing game demos from magazine coverdisks.. and buying physical copies of games (with boxes!). Games seem to be more rare back then.

Aha, think it was limited to 800 X 600 in the original release. This is with the FS2 Open engine + texture packs.

Is that some form of cell shading?

doesn't look like it. cell shading makes things look like they were from a comic book

I think its more voxel based.

The Witness is honestly the best game ive played in a very long time. Im genuinely challenged and get so stoked when i solve a puzzle. I have multiple pages in my notebook full with sketchings of the puzzles/outcomes

Bit of NMS this weekend, for anyone that cares - yes the game does get better further in - no GOTY but still fun imo.

Fired up the Wildlands Open Beta, and just got to the new section of the map they opened up. Fair bit different to the original area, looks quite nice.

lol, I just did a very similar thing at almost the same place, taking some high res shots with the Ansel thing. It's very cool.

Yeah it's pretty sweet, they could add a few features to it but it works well. I tried taking a screenshot in the highest res possible and it estimated it was going to be 30gb haha, but i dont know what happened and it only ended up being 646mb
