It's just different enough that I didn't get the "nostalgia trip" I was expecting, like I do when I play the original (which I still do on occasion). Even the opening sequence had just enough different for me to think "this is HL's equal but not it's twin".
Game is intense. Risk Of Rain 2 is everything that a good video game should be. Two thumbs up. All the power in the world, yet I was killed by a "Mini Mushrum" ... fml.
I've played this. A lot. I don't want to be that guy, but you're doing it wrong You don't really wanna spend more than 4-5 minutes per stage; looting out whole stages will put you really far behind as far as scaling goes. Me and the bois play Monsoon, typically 3 player but sometimes 2. Multiplayer is a lot harder with 3 or more players due to the way the game scales. Our best run with 3 man monsoon was somewhere around 15 stages, I think it was close to 100 minutes. Found a screenie : Fucking great game though, it is just so unashamedly a game. I watched an interview with the devs and they have a really good attitude towards balance and fun etc. Really shines through in RoR2. A true masterpiece IMHO.
Cheers for the tip, I'll try a speed run tomorrow morning. Basically, I'm just gunning for the exit and getting any chests that I trip over?
Yeah, look for the red sparks/particles that float around near the teleporter, head straight to it, pickup anything convenient. Kill boss, loot nearby, rinse- repeat.
got bored, playing factorio, deathworld and creative mod, now sitting between 5 fps an 3 fps while my artillry devestates the bugs
Followed your advice, and this morning I found a boss!! I have nfi if trading in those items for a super-high jump actually killed my chances... Might need to read up on this level, it was a little unique. :lol
Yeah so that is the end game boss. Being there later than like 35 or so minutes makes it significantly harder. There is absolutely a pattern to learn to kill Mithrix, plenty of youtube on that bad boy. Your build there is a bit all over the place, especially for engineer where attack speed only really effects the turrets. The focus crystals also only effect close range combat so not much use. I don't like headstompers (red item, jump high thing) but they do cancel all fall damage which is nice. The 2 strongest white items in the game are the Lens Makers Glasses which increase crit chance (base crit chance is only 1%, glasses do 10% and stack near linear) and Tri Tip Dagger which causes bleed, which stacks very well. I wouldn't recommend learning the game on Engineer because the playstyle is very specific, like when using stationary turrets the Bustling Fungus item is really good; but it's almost useless on all other classes. If you're only playing rainstorm you're better off learning Commando first IMHO.
Time for a nervous wee; EDIT: No way near enough sheilding/health/dodge. Thought I'd at least make it to the final boss. Oh well, back to bed for me. *sneezes*
Not movies, unless you go to the theatre, which I don't. Concerts and sporting events are a different breed, you go for the atmosphere, something that has yet to be reproduced in the living room. I like comparing apples to apples. I brought this and RDR2 on the same day and RDR2 was a few dollars cheaper. I completed Mafia on the same day it was brought with zero to little re-playability. The next day I started on RDR2. Last time I checked I think I was like 60 hours into RDR2 and sitting at 36%. Haven't even touched MP and getting heaps of enjoyment hunting, robbing, stealing stage coaches, finding and capturing the best horses in the game. I should easily get 200 hours and depending on MP maybe even double that or more. I think I have couple of thousand with GTA5. I think thats a more honest comparison. Don't get me wrong I am not upset about just disappointed, it was a fun game but there just needed to be a lot more of it at that price point IMO, ymmv.
