I am loving it. Despite the absence of Viktor Antonov, they absolutely nailed the look and atmosphere.

I haven't played Death of the Outsider, I've only just started on Dishonored 2, so I guess I'll see what Billie is like when I get there.

    HZD: Frozen Wilds DLC (PS4)

I finished the game mid last year and picked up the complete edition preowned late last year as a cheap means to the DLC. I only just started the DLC today and I don't know why It took me this long - I'm falling in love with this game all over again.

I never got around to playing Metro 2033, so now I'm playing Metro Redux! The graphics are pretty ordinary, and the UI is horrible, but it looks OK at 3440x1440.

Man, I was running dual 6870s when that game came out. She's getting old now.

Original sure was pretty, but the redux versions are console ports, ported to the pc again. Looks kinda rough, but actually runs pretty well. (original still hurts on a 5950x/6900xt)

It's actually kinda interesting just how much they changed. Stuff like old mates headlamp throwing real shadows in the original, vs this fake light that doesn't do much of anything in redux.

edit: fiddled with ini files till I worked out what setting was tanking the originals performance and glitching it out so badly. Seems it was something I probably tweaked years ago that helped then, but hurt like shit now. bahaha

Might have to keep going now, loved the original, but never did get around to playing last light.

Metro Exodus. Artyom is still pissing about the place in his typically irritating fashion, but now he's married! Following a narrow escape from certain death, he is berated by Anna for his irresponsibility, and sternly informed by his doctor that due to the massive amounts of radiation he's absorbed, he cannot return to the surface for at least one year.

So naturally he returns to the surface a week later... with Anna.

I'm loving Metro Exodus. It's a far more polished product than the previous games. Graphics are gorgeous, voice acting has improved (they're actually using kids for the kids, instead of adults) and the UI has been fixed. It's also far more atmospheric!

I just wish they gave you the option of spoken Russian with English subtitles, for greater immersion.

Heh, the redux versions are kinda like playing doom on the super nintendo, then wondering what the fuss was all about with pc players. lol

But go into game options and scroll down, same as the other games. You can set voice to russian and use english sub titles if you want.

I wonder if they'll ever be able to properly get rid of the uncanny valley look from people in-game. Even the best attempts i've seen still clearly look 'wrong'.

Well, it seemed like a good time to try GTA IV again. Figure we're probably around that tipping point between being able to muscle our way through running a poorly optimised port, and it just flat out not working at all. :p

Seems to handle high fps / ultrawide gameplay with only a few occasional hiccups. Just leave those detail distance sliders at default and don't try jack everything to 100% because reasons and it's consistently smooth (120fps+).
