    Yeah I've got VRR and GSync on anyways as I have a 3080, but turn in game vsync setting off or makes no difference what it's set to anyways?

    it can depending on a title by title and display basis so ymmv on doom eternal i'd leave it off though completely especially if you're using rtx etc and just let the gsync and vrr do its thing without screen tearing

    You should have both Gsync in your nVidia control panel, and Vsync in-game turned on. Ideally, you'd also have a frame-rate cap enabled at 3fps below your monitor max.

    This will do the following:

    - Gsync will vary the refresh rate of your monitor to match that of your GPU output
    - Vsync will prevent frames being sent to your monitor while the current one is only partially scanned in eliminating tearing
    - A framerate cap 3-fps below your monitor max will prevent Vsync from buffering frames and creating input lag, and account for frame-rate spikes above the cap

    People misunderstand what Gsync does. It is not a frame cap and it does not synchronize your frame rendering to your monitor refresh rate. This means it does not prevent screen tearing.

    I'm really glad you post this, because I swear that they used to say you had to have VSync off otherwise it caused input lag or some shit.

    Can also limit FPS in Nvidia Control Panel I believe. I'll have to make sure i turn my VSync back on after all these years lol

    Ta. Clears up a few things for me now :thumbup: There's quite a bit of debate out there from what I've read about what needs turning on/off etc.

    I found this good as a no 'broscience' source. Blurbusters definitely know what they're talking about:

    Necromunda: Hired Gun.

    Yet another disappointing addition to the 40K stable. It's OK for some mindless carnage, but the design simply reeks of laziness.

    * surprisingly poor graphics, with textures that look muddy and outdated
    * dull music track, consisting almost entirely of repetitive 90s thrash guitar
    * movement feels too floaty
    * huge gaps in sound design: player moves almost noiselessly, despite being an armour plated beast loaded with weapons; most surfaces sound exactly the same when you run over them; ambience virtually non-existent

    Just infuriating.

    A shame but very much expected, 40k has enough lore to make tons of good games but I don't think they'll ever make a truly great one.

    It's ridiculous considering the vast resources available to them. I enjoyed Space Marine, and if they'd kept the same style and sound design, this game could have been a real banger. But it's just a huge wasted opportunity.

    Did I mention the clipping? The clipping is utterly atrocious. I haven't seen clipping this bad since the 90s!

    Lara Croft is back at it again with her wacky shenanigans, her rock hard C-cups, and her inexplicably flat arse! Yes it's Rise of the Tomb Raider!

    I've never played a Tomb Raider game before, and I have to say this one's quite good. Some niggles, but nothing too bad.

    Great game but the crafting did my head in. I just want standard progression not having to craft things to max out Lara

    The first one in the reboot series is genuinely one of my all time favourite games. I just absolutely loved it and I was never a Tomb Raider fan of the past (despite playing it plenty of times and hating myself for it)

    Nuh more like collect 30 wombat scrotums for an quiver that holds 3 arrows.

    It was a great game. I enjoyed the originals but I was very bad at them. I still am for clarification. The first reboot was a really cool game, it modernized the series in every way that mattered.

    Things I like:

    * climbing & parkour
    * combat
    * crafting is ludicrously efficient
    * visuals & sound design are excellent

    Things I don't like:

    * movement feels too floaty
    * terrain recognition is too hit & miss
    * interaction targets can be impossible to grab, even when you're right next to them
    * skill trees are a bit samey, I felt like I was just adding extra options rather than specialising in critical fields

    I've finished the Baba Yaga DLC (easy way to level up a bit) and now I'm back to the main campaign.
