Playing through a few achievement unlocks on Risk Of Rain 2, I've just unlocked this badboi - Aurelionite.

Yeah although they aren't exactly "similar" I enjoyed it much like I did Hellblade. Very different to the usual raft of FPS and open world action RPG's that often dominate my time. They both have a real sense of being a labour of love and bring something fresh to a sometimes stale industry.

Very nice, Dunia/Cry engine still lookin pretty good. It probably doesnt compare well to the "BIG 2" of dev engines, but still looks nice.

As good as it is it will never have the magic of FC1 in terms of a whole new world of insanely good graphics. But this is very beautiful to play all the same  closest I'll get to the magic of the original.

Not a chance. I'd have a stiff neck from looking up all the time.

Finally got around to starting Horizon Zero Dawn. Can't help but feel the quest design is a little derivative of the Ubisoft open world formula complete with seemingly never ending side fetch quests and enemy encampments to take out - Fortunately these can be taken on or ignored at your own choice depending on whether you want that sweet XP or upgrades or not. The main story is so far intriguing and I'm interested to see where it goes. The combat itself is pretty fun especially as you unlock some of the good stuff and the world looks stunning.

Been having fun with Age of Darkness. It's a We Are Billions clone with a few new ideas.

This video shows the endgame, with 16,000 enemies coming at once.

They definitely hit a home run in the art/visual/creature design and world building in Horizon, it's especially beautiful on PC. I agree though the quest design is a bit lazy and I felt like the PDA's you find are a bit too prolific but random. Would have preferred fewer but all voice recorded. (For all the poo poo CP2077 got it's quest design was still better than many more beloved games). Overall story/plot is really intriguing though to be sure. The main musical theme is also absolutely beautiful.

Such wet weather, perfect to unlock another thing that does the thing in Risk Of Rain 2.

About 3/4's through Alien Isolation. Having only recently rewatched the original film the art design, music, sound and lighting in this game is so faithful to the visuals and is really a work of art istelf. For a 2014 game it still looks pretty incredible. The second picture is the Nostromo in the original film.

Deus_Ex_Machina such an amazing game and one of my favourites. If this is your first play through before you finish the game if you haven't already get the dlc with Sigourney Weaver and alien and aliens crew came back for it, don't want to spoil further than that and let us know your thoughts.

Will do. I'm about 3/4 the way through the main game. Do I need to play the DLC before I proceed or is it just a recreation of the end of Alien (Crew expendable & sole survivor?)

So I played it post and late game at the time but I enjoyed Isolation as it is. Then I had the dlc and it's bit of a course correct for Alien movies as a franchise, and Ridely Scott approved after the last one. Don't google it and I spoiled enough talking about Sigourney Weaver. But its there for anyone who ever plays it.

And The team who did isolation are apparently about to reveal their next game this year, one of Sega's best gets outside of their own IP and Sonic.
