Yup using the FirebrandX settings, but can't remember whether it was 256x240 or 320x224, recently upgraded the firmware on my OSSC so lost all my custom profiles.

TBH the Atari ST was better at some things than the Amiga, but for purely gaming I think the A500 takes the award (certainly better sound/music, but the ST had excellent graphics capability too).

the ST was hobbled out of the gate for games and never recovered despite the STE revision.

ST was for the music crowd that took advantage of the built in midi. I can't think of anything it did better.

On the subject of vehicular fun and OG xbox, Burnout 3: Takedown. IMO the pinnacle of the franchise.
The game is so fast it's a challenge to take a decent photo of while playing. Cheap ebay component cables but looking quite decent. Going to attempt Xbox 360 component cable mod on Sunday. Additionally going to try wire up the unused composite plug on the cable to Coax SPDIF output.

All this talk about 5x86 on the retro bargains thread got me really excited so I dug up my old 486 pci board with a Amd 5x86 cpu that was my oc around 96 when I was in highschool. I built a box from spare parts and a case I recently found on hard rubbish.

Very pleasantly suprised it still works except had to desolder a dead rtc clock battery and socket a new one.

Last night I finally had the chance to have a little session with some whiskey while kids and wife asleep.

Played a few of my favourites which I actually played first on my 286 in cga mode

Test Drive 2 - grew up on this but in cga mode
Golden axe - also cga days for me
Robocop 1 cga version good times

MiSTer now supports direct analogue video out without the addon IO board :)

That, and the IO board happily supports the RGBS signal needed for the 15KHz RGB 1084S input.

Also supports 15KHz YPbPr, and 31KHz / doublescanned versions of both for VGA monitors.

So far the only thing MiSTer doesn't support natively is S-Video and CVBS. All other signals and resolutions are fine.

October means Halloween means scary games month! Finally catching up on Resident Evil 4. Already owned it on Wii, but bought it again on PS4 just so I could play it in the lounge on the big screen, hahaha.

At first I was all "nah, this isn't for me". Nek minnit I'm at 3-1 and excited to see what's behind every door.
