Whats the speeds you're working with atm? upload and ping really is the important part. Downloads doesnt make much of a difference unless the entire house is on youtube.

my net is 50/20 (right now speedtest says 44/18 but thats also with 3 twitch streams being watched :). i do know my stream struggles atm. the bitrate i have my stream set to is 3500 or so in 720p. being affiliate i give quality options so people can lurk in 160 if they want.

also my pc is a bit old so that may not help either. thinking of getting a game capture card to take the pressure off my cpu.

You could prob drop your bitrate down to 2500 which might help. But I can't really see a reason why your net couldnt handle what you're trying todo.

So my home bandwidth is better than I thought. If no one is downloading and it's late at night, doing a speed test with Google maxes out the theoretical bandwidth, clocking 21-22Mbps.
My dad has agreed he'll upgrade to 50Mb unlimited from 25Mb 100GB. He's haggled with the ISP to get it for $70, down from RRP $80. It turns out we're on an obsolete plan, so we were ripping ourselves off, so a plan upgrade was inevitable.

Im getting nbn tomorrow so im going to go back to my nanna streams https://www.twitch.tv/loadingdread/

I have my PC set up in my living room so its full of my wife's random kitsch with my greyhounds and cats wandering through. I got a few dedicated viewers last time I streamed so im hoping to get it going again.

Got NBN connected at my place on Monday so have started Twitch streaming the past few nights. It's just a few mates playing PUBG during the evening.

Some people don't, but then you lose out on engagement.

It can be a little unnerving at first.

Showing a face makes the "experience" personable.

Maybe create an alter ego , or just "be yourself". Use it as a means to help any anxiety issues. Easier said than done, but that's what I'm doing (the latter).

Let your potential audience decide. Don't judge yourself.

I'm not perfect either. I've got a "beer belly" equivalent type thing going on which I'm not proud of, which on camera makes me look bigger than I feel, but you just gotta learn to cope with it.

Holy crap, didn't know this part of OCAU existed. Think I found a new haunt. Might as well start here before mashing through the other threads.
