I want to represent some lengths of wire on my thesis poster (which is done in powerpoint).

Is there any way to draw specific lengths (not necessarily straight...can curve) on powerpoint such that when i do print it out in say..A2....it would be that specific length?

Set your page size to the right size and then draw the line to the desired length - it should be that easy.

It may take you many many attempts in power point, and i do wonder why you are using power point? I would have thought Visio would do a better job. Not sure if you can embedded visio into powerpoint and wether or not the scale carries across of not, but visio will do diagrams to the scale you specify.
