    Sure is.

Because I'm sleep deprived the following can happen.

I drive to work tired and pissed off. The 70 year old in front of me does her usual "im gonna take 38 seconds to react when the light goes green" making me driving like a fucking lunatic whilst I try to overtake her. Unfortunately for me a Tanker happens to intercept me, rolling over and not being able to deliver its fuel delivery, which consequently prevents the CEO of BHP's chauffer from filling up which in turn makes him late for his flight. This then delays a very important board meeting where he is trying to prevent China from buying half of australia. The deal goes through and now the land you live on is owned by the chinese and your childrens children are gonna be fucking slaves to the system.

    See??

Thats the first thing I tried... just cant handle it man :(
I sometimes get up at around 3am or so to piss. I might try to put them in then while im really sleepy.. might get through it!

as I said, it takes time to get used to them, but persevere, it's totally worth it.
of course, if you're in a situation without them, you'll be screwed lol, it's just as hard to wean yourself off using them gah.

Try putting the radio on, or one of those "white noise" tapes. try to get used to sleeping with some sort of background noise. All I know is that I lived opposite natural bushland and the birds woke early, and I lived there for something like 8 years. I can remember the yacky birds, I can't really remember how I dealt with it, but dealt with it I did......... somehow. It's achievable.

I live in the middle of brisbane and we still get plenty of lorikeets, fig birds, crows and cockatoos, you just eventually get used to it and ignore it, my grandfather is a light sleeper and even he doesnt hear them anymore

We have a fig bird that starts singing at 4:30am almost every morning, it was quite loud when i first started doing it and woke us up, it still does it now but you get used to it somehow

I have a Kookaburra that lands outside and laughs at 5am in the morning.

I point my super focused flashlight at it and shine its face (on off on off on off on off on off on off on off on off on off on off on off on off on off) eventually it flew away.

It comes back every other day to annoy me in return. Now i just wear earplugs and sleep through it.

I like the birds, let me know I'm in a happy nature neighbourhood.

Only really have crazy noise problems during breeding season.
Generally the big screech noises are babies calling their parents for food or if they're injured/pissed off.

You can get alarms for deaf/hard of hearing people too. They have a little device that goes under the bed and rumbles for the alarm.

back home we have birds around the place due to lots of trees + being near the linear park. they make noises and fly around. cockatoos are definitely the loudest.

i miss them a lot because nature is not a thing that hong kongers are familiar with. :( just the sound of cars and trucks, even in my apartment which is 30 floors above a road that isn't even that busy.

    good to hear dude,
failing that if they return we have some devices we use here on site to keep birds from nesting in our warehouses,
we use two types one is a ultra sonic burst but depending on your ears you may sitll hear it.. i know i do, I believe it imitates a bats distress call

we have another one that plays random bird distress calls and hawk and kite attack calls, These work well but well... they make noise too... but at least it is fairly consistant and you could direct it at the trees?

on the brink of extinction, and will they open up the ability to captive breed them to as many as possible? oh hell no, you need special permits at 20 grand each (or more) to breed them and other endangered species.. wtf? conservation in some respects is a fucked up sad joke.

    frustrating sometimes, it really is.

I use earplugs as other native... inhabitants make a lot of noise at odd hours.

I'll vouch for that. I've finally been able to coax one of these colourful fellas into my backyard today :)

ikonz0r since the necro has happened how is the bird situation??? Living in Darwin you get them all lorri's, corella's sulphur crested, galahs etc. we had a star fruit tree in the last place i was at and the Sulphur Crested Cockies loved them, they were the loudest of the lot (round the same time) Scrub fowl and Curlews for the creepiest night time noise. but in saying that, green tree frogs are the worst and noisiest of the lot
