Thanks for that. I have the decals but no access to an ALPS. I'm told that they stopped making them some time ago so I might have to go another way. Red? Yellow? Green? Opinions? Black doesn't work.

I tried several shades of gray but at some point they start to rely on an underlying white that doesn't exist in a transparent decal. It has to be a solid color. Yellow has the best contrast, second is orange but do they really look good? If I had access to white I could pick from any color I want.

I know, it is strange. The printer leaves spaces for the white paper to show through but instead I get black walnut.

I thought I might try something like this. I can do two solid colors that might look good together. What do you think?

On another subject....I just finished installing Ubuntu 8.10 and all the equipment is running great. Fast little devil.

Ingraham @ 99%. I have only the front emblem to deal with and that's apparently going to take time.

Backside shot showing my new rheostat. I'll take any opportunity to add something knurled.

I'll be taking the "lid" back off soon to photograph the interior so I left off the case closing screw covers for now.

I disassembled the entire computer and put it back together using matching screws and Permatex Threadlock (medium strength).

    Thanks for looking.

I know you will not be seeing the back that often, but do you have a low profile knob that sits at about the level of the wood? I can see that getting caught if you ever move it.

I think a big knob helps if you have to do a reach around.

LOL. But seriously, don't you hate reaching back behind your computer fishing around for a tiny switch or button or knob? Not with this bad boy.

But if my knob sticks out too far then I can live (proudly) with that criticism.

I'm playing around with my photo setup. I suck at it so I just take a thousand or so pictures and hope a couple stick. Thank goodness digital film is free.

    Time to go 800 x 600.......

I'm also playing around with how to deal with the reflection in the baby moon's chrome. The wife recommended I just have fun with it and give people something interesting to look at. Top photo is the VIA VB motherboard box. Meh. Second is my Thinking Man statue. OK. Next up...naked women.:shock::shock::shock:

    Thanks tired and Landless!

I decided to go with the classic black. It always works...just like that little black dress. Finally getting the camera dialed in too.
