Project :Opti's Vapo case done on a budjet

Hey'all, as a few people know I have a Vapo PE, stand alone unit. I decided to make a case for it, I haven't really done much modding before appart from adding lights, neons and cutting a hole in the side of a case this was a bit scary for me.
So far so good, I have made a few fuck ups but hey you live and learn.
So here we go for pics of what I have so far.

This is the same type of case I used, but this one has a side window, which was my first ever mod :D and a black facia, these noramlly come in beige, another massive mod ;) This case was gladly donated by Deckham which was supposed to be for another mod.

I basically cut the case to half in height and mounted the rear case section to the front so I can mount a 120mm fan to it.

Just a pic of the sides of the case cut down, the left one obviously has already been painted.

Coming together with the sides on just to make sure everythings going o.k. Oop's, I cut one of the sides about 3mm too much :upset: but its the blind side luckily.
You can see the massive server case sitting behind it. My next headache.

The front of the case I just cut it to size, painted it and turned it upside down.

I was given a massive piece of tinted perspex about 5mm thick and about 1500mm square so I decided to cut a bottom piece for the box the same as the "wave" on the front of the Tsunami case, which it will be sitting under just for looks.
    [IMG][IMG]

Lastly a couple of pics with the front sitting together but nothing screwed together and the top cover hasn't had a hole cut in it yet and painted.
But it's starting to look o.k for a first timers job.
    [IMG][IMG]

The three hole in the front cover used to have clear push button switches there. I am just glueing the clear pieces in and where the power and hdd LED lights where I am using two High intensity blue leds which will act the same as the hdd and power leds on the Tsuanmi case.
I will also be fitting two USB ports to the front/side of the case as the case already had them there so I thought why not.

Hope you like what you see so far. Critisize away!!!!

I thought about that but everyone seems to do a blowhole so I decided against it.

Yeah, I originally cut in in half to use the top half, with all the removable drive bay covers, but this way looks better.

Update, I have decided to put a 90mm blowhole in the front. After assembling it, it looked o.k but now it's apart again getting a blow job :D . But, with a little difference. Mind you all this is done on a very limited budjet and with everything I have lying around the house, all it has cost me so far is $6 for two rubber sealing strips from my work to seal the side covers to the lid.

I'll post some progress pics tonight.

O.k some more pics here now.
First slap of bondo on with it half sanded.
Jeez its been a while since I have sanded like this.
    [IMG][IMG]

I don't know what everyone else uses for a fine top coat of bondo but I just used a fine finish plasterers bog. come up a treat.

The finishing touches of spray putty, about 4-5 times just to get a better result.

and this is what I'll be putting at the back of my blow hole. I don't need another fan it there and I found this in my pile on junk so I thought it may look good there.

    [IMG][IMG]

The only problem is how to paint the inside section of the blowhole white so the UV really stands out.

Yeah yeah I know Slamma, but I had it all together and it just didn't look right.
This better turn out good or its your neck for suggesting it :D :D

That bondo is from Bunnings. I only needed a small amout and I wasn't going to fork out extra cash for stuff that will just sit there. Its called Selleys Plasti Bond. This mod is supposed to on the cheap so keeping costs down is a must. And its actually green.

Most shots of the front cover finished now.

I have refitted the switches back in so they could be used to turn the pc from there aswell and where the red a green leds are on these case fronts for the power and hdd I have changed them to super bright blue led's but I can't show you them yet as they only work when hooked up to a mobo. But I have the UV grill hooked up to a psu to show the effects of that so far which I have also fitted a switch on the front side to switch it on and off.
