I had Marantz PM7003 ages ago, it was me and converge that have it not zero. Yeah I had a choice of silver or black 8000Q/P I chose silver because IMO they looked better than black. They sound nice paired up with the B&W 685. The DAC is $1485 from COEM Audio

I won't have a chance to test it out until I get my Audiophilleo2

Cheers for the links mate. That DAC looks awesome, balanced class A/discrete components/no negative feedback, certainly ticks all the boxes.

And they have a 30 day trial period? Hmm this could be dangerous to my bank balance.

I was looking at the Halide Bridge because it's such a neat and tidy solution, but the Audiophilleo sounds pretty sweet too.

I've got a silver 8000P/Q combo at the shop and yes, they do look very nice, I love the minimalist design. Pretty hard to pick any sonic differences between the original versions and the re-issues too.

The DAC is the best in my books, I was originally going to go with the Augio-gd Reference 7.1 but they stopped making it as they were too short of the PCM1704UK chips that are used in the Lite also. The other one I would consider is the Lenehan Audio PDX, but because its Aus-made its quite costly. It is based on 8x PCM1704UK chips like the Ref 7.1 (the Lite uses 4x)
As for the Audiophilleo, self explanatory. Its simply awesome, at a not so awesome price.

lol @ matt even owning a marantz something

The dac looks real nice pete, notice a difference in sound between the caiman? I can't believe the size of it, it's like double the size of my caiman.

I hate getting the audio upgrade bug, the money is like a whole nother level compared to anything else :(

I can't test it yet as I don't have a TOSLINK and my motherboard only has a TOSLINK in

Classy only has coax in? That's weird. Just grab an optical cable, pretty cheap.

Still haven't gotten around to adding my SSD in, so lazy.
Bought a new keyboard, will be seeing my current one up in the FS section soon.
Also my Audiophilleo2 should be arriving soon, async USB - DAC ftw.

i rekon a second monitor will make your setup look that tiny bit better, not saying it looks bad, its f**king beautiful and clean, just seems you have too much desk space and need to fill it up
