    Hello,

Just wondering if anybody has tried connecting the PS3 to the Syncmaster 305t+?

I'm trying to figure out if its HDCP or not for a start.

However using the HDMI to DVI does not produce results.

Just after any comments on what I might be doing wrong.

    Cheers

305T+ does have HDCP support. Assuming it is the + model.

Check your HDMI to DVI cable/converter and see if it is dual link DVI, since your monitor needs it to get 2560x1600 resolution. See here about single or dual link.

Next, try resetting the PS3's video. Make sure the system is off, then hold down the power button for 5-6 seconds until you hear the second beep. Video will be back to factory setting.

Okay I dont think its possible to have the ps3 output on this monitor.

Unless somebody can prove otherwise i'd like a youtube video :D

No doubt it is HDCP ... even if i can't get it to work.

I think the problem is that this monitor only handles two resolutions ..on bootup ..1280 or
    2560

The monitor will handle other resolutions once your OS gets in like OSX/XP etc using its drivers.

So even if I reset it the PS3..which will then default to 480, its still not one of the resolutions it will do ..oh well it was an interesting experiment to see ...

I normally play on my 46" ..was just intereted to see if i could move it to the study for occassional quiet gaming ;D

Of course i'm ALWAYS happy to be proven wrong
