Absolutely agree with the above sentiment - the hype has been out of control for this.. having said that, being in my 40s with a decent job, I can afford to buy it when it comes out so why not. One of my main reasons to upgrade to the PS5 is to be able to play PS4 games quitely at night when the kiddies are in bed WITHOUT the jet engine noise that my 1st generation PS4 produces :-D I could probably do that with a PS4 Pro, but upgrading to that would absolutely be a waste of $$$.
PS4 results in better $ per hour per game. Gonna miss out on all the extra long load screens when on PS5
I'm not a console person, or at least haven't been for decades, but I have to say it does surprise me there isn't a greater effort to push for at least one killer title when launching new consoles.
My jaw hit the floor when I saw Demon Souls for $119 on Amazon today.. Having paid $20-$70 for most of my ps4 titles I guess I had hoped for maybe $90. This reminds me of when petrol breached $1.00 a litre for the first time.. i convinced myself it was a temporary bump.. but it snow balled from there.. Guess prices of $120 are the new norm?
$120 prices could also be a result of a use UBD discs over BD discs? The discs would be more expensive to produce. I'm actually content to wait now to see what the actual pricing is for digital titles compared to physical now for PS5 games if this is the new pricing model.
With the release of digital only next-gen consoles, all new game cases will come with a digital key in the box and maybe the option of a disc (for extra?) Second hand disc sales may still be a thing, but the keys of course will not - which is what the publishers want.
If you have the disk console you can also borrow from EB Games, and then return it. You get 14 days which is plenty of time to finish some games.
there are shitloads of people that also buy day one, sell in a week and barely lose anything. they aren't going to suddenly buy a digital only box unless EVERY title ends up muddled up in a subscription somewhere.
That's a pretty shitty thing to do. Is it 'legal'? I guess, but it still shows how little respect you have for other people and how little you care for physical media. Especially if you're only buying physical to rort the system.
Put an order in with EB Games for "2021" shipment just in case they get a shipment earlier.... not holding my breath. Ordered the disk version so I can play my ps4 games on it... I signed up for the amazon alert for pre-orders and didn't get shit so I'm a bit salty that I missed out Any if I'll be able to trade my launch model XBONE? Also what the fuck is up with the price of Demon's Souls remake? $125???
you might have trouble finding many members for your "won't somebody think of the corporations???" support group. its absolutely legal. EB Games offer their return policy over and above their obligations under the ACL. nobody is forcing them to do it. if people want to take advantage of it, power to them IMO.
