So are you saying at normal clocking the G0 stepping performs worse than the B3 stepping? Reason im holding out for the G0 is lower power consumption and less heat production as i wat the unit to perform as cool as possible. Though if it sacrafices performance at any great length that would be a concern.

G0 is basically going to be better at everything OC and power consumption and temp related don't hold out

Sigh, still waiting on mine from nintek

3 weeks ago they were due in 2 weeks

now they're due in 2 weeks

    ...

half tempted to cancel because I can probably get by without one and can't be bothered waiting for what I can see is going to turn into another month at this rate.

    I should have listened.

    Nonsense.

G0 - as per technical documentation which has many times posted here/linked here - is (a) running with around 10 Watt lower TDP, and (b) has various errata fixed. It definitely runs a few C lower. Whether it actually overclocks a little better (probably it does) has still to be established.

Just got off the phone with MSY Malvern (VIC) and CPL Notting Hill (VIC). Neither has any G0 stock. The MSY operator sounded rather exasperated (they have been fielding calls all week for the SLACR). No ETA on the next delivery, but they expect it to be SL9UMs as well.

Does anyone know a place in Melbourne with G0 stock?

(Fluidtek's 'conditions apply' pricing is highly misleading (probably in breach of the TPA), and there doesn't appear to be a way to pay the non-bundled price and addon the $30 premium, which in any case I wouldn't be willing to pay).

GO is clearly better than the old stepping. But I would never (and I haven't) pay more money to a piggish vendor for this. They are selling G0 now for around 2 weeks in Japan, most vendors have both stepping, but nobody is charging a different price.

all the vendors are evil i tell you! some of you guys could be blamed for this for hyping up the G0 ;)

prices should go down to normal in the next week or so i suspect. this is what happened with the price cut on the B3. initially the prices were a bit high when it when down fairly quickly.

unfortunate for us, MSY still doesn't stock G0s, so no competition = vendors jacking up the price while then can.

MSY doesn't have G0 its because they still have the old Stock CPU and there will be no price drop until next week where do you hear the price drop from lol. the price are the same from 3 weeks ago in our shop.

shops like itsky, nintek, umart etc had the prices jacked up high initially for the B3 3 weeks back. then they dropped their prices after places like MSY started to sell them cheap.

and i'm not saying its definite that it'll dropp next week, but it will eventualy happen with some shops. ;)
