Although it's hard saying goodbye, you didn't have any option but to make the decision to let him go without suffering. Sorry for your loss.

You did the best thing for your furry mate. It is so hard to let them go and it cuts so deep, but you did the hard thing because you loved him.

    Thanks guys.
A lot of love in this thread, even if it is to honour the memory of our lost friends.
Also, to put it into perspective, Jaxx was 13 1/2 years, my son is 4, and I have been with my missus for 8 years, so he has been by my side through thick and thin.

On a lighter not, he got the nickname Spaz, as every now and again, he would go mental and pull laps of the backyard at full speed and stuff. He was a performer. And also, if I was late to feed him, did I get told off or what.
    Plenty of attitude.

My girl used to do that, she even did it once in her senior years. It was quite a sight to see she still had it in her.

Fuck why do I look at this thread... the feels. Makes me even sadder knowing I have 3 cats and I'll be faced with this eventually.

me too, and mine are about 17-ish years old :( At least with "seniors" they've had a "good innings" and it isn't a shock like losing somebody from an accident or something while they are young. There's no good way of losing somebody, but you do adjust when they are older to accept the prospect that they'll be going.

My lil Rosy died this morning :( Been a part of our family for over 10 years so everyone is very upset especially mum. We knew it was coming but still.

I guess it hasn't really sunk in yet, it'll suck massively tonight when there's no Rosy following us around at dinner time reminding us she's hungry and tomorrow I think when I get home first and there's no Rosy at the gate going crazy with excitement to see me :(

No one ever wants to join this thread but so sad that our family dog had to be put down today.
I said goodbye last night and didn't want to go to the vet with my parents and sister.

She 'Cookie' was just under 15 years old.
Had her since a pup from RSPCA.

Buried my beautiful boy Felix today. He was only 3 years old. Words can't express how much joy and happiness you brought to our lives.

The feels can't stop flowing out of my eyes!! :upset::upset:
Missus has been crying all day.

    Just when we got him:
