Very saddening to hear, Fuzz: snatched far too early. Clearly a loved and devotedly looked-after family member.

Bunnies express an innocence of life I find refreshing. To lose one is awful.
    You have my thoughts..

Feeling pretty sad today. German Shepard of just over 10 years had to be put down

We just drive from Sydney to Brisbane for Xmas. Dog went nuts playing with the other dogs. We checked on him after an hour, dropping, panting in distress. Let him calm for a bit, got worse not better. He's had some other issues recently so we knew the time was soon.

But not prepared for today. Let the kids say goodbye (they have always had him there) and took him to the vet. Turns out he got a twisted bowel today from the rough play.

Had to get him put down.

I'm not a super emotional person, but this is up there with making the call to turn life support on my dad off.

Tough for the family a day before xmas.

I'm sorry, but he had a good time with his dog friends so his last day was a good one for him.

Yeah no denying he was having a blast. Thought he was a young dog again.

Absolutely gutted today :( my son is really upset also. Dog has been there since before he was born.

Thanks for the thoughts. Life moves on of course.

Thanks. Was tough this morning. Every day for the last 10 years first thing I've done since waking up in the morning was go out and give him a pat/cuddle for a few minutes while I "woke" up.

It's probably because he had back issues so wasn't jumping like a normal dog. More common to happen in Shepards.

Even worse, we're on holidays in Brisbane at the moment (although Brisbane was home for 28 years) so not even at home.

I'm so very sorry GTR, and Koops. Our fur babies have souls and loves. Wynter and I dote on ours and they are absolutely precious, as I know are yours. Your world- no the world is the poorer for their passing.

    Manhugs to you both.

Absolutely heartbroken. Lost my best friend today, our 4year old rottweiler had to be put down. Osteosarcoma that had spread to his lungs.
