I would be happy enough if they just created a proper ending for #1.

Still there is plenty of story opportunity in the Rage world. Ill happily play.

Was going to be Tech6 but it's running on Apex (Just cause series). First game ran on tech 5.

    Nope. I'm out.

Hope this one won't run into the massive texture problem in the first game with the megatexture technology in idtech5 engine. On release version was complete utter dogshit and Carmack blamed it simply that PC gaming is no longer the norm rather than releasing a polished version for PC. I lost respect for him when he made that post.

I might buy this turd as a bargain bin, but I'll never pay up for this out of the blue not what we asked for PC turd.

been revisiting the old RAGE thread where i bitched about the gameplay, now i remember it being fetch quest city.

had a good lol at buggy amd drivers on release causing issues.... not much has changed it would seem.

He was right though, it worked fine in tech 4 and only failed due to console support for tech 5. You don't have to worry though cause it's not using tech 5, or tech 6. It's using the just cause engine (apex).

I also forgot that they actually launched the game on iOS at the time too!

Can't *really* tell from the trailer, but I agree completely. What made the first game was the gunplay - I think it was right up there with the latest DOOM.
The issues with the game were technical (textures popping in), and possibly having the worst ending of any game ever made... apart from that an awesome game.

Going by the announcement blurb they've totally changed the gameplay to focus on Nanotrite abilities. Slam attack, energy push, overdrive ability that charges up by using other shit. That sort of gameplay has it's place, in other games ;). The shift to a different engine also has me worried they won't have the artistic detail and AI that made different areas in Rage feel special.

Liked Rage a lot, no thinking and just a casual game with tactical shooting. The AI enemy is great.

    Hope Rage 2 is better.

I finally bought the Rage DLC on recent Steam sale, after not playing the game for many years.
The gun play was fun. Driving not so much, except for explosions. Lack of destruction and interaction with the environment was disappointing.
Visuals were great, but no longer real special compared to today's games.

I never got around to playing the original but have it on Steam, is it worth a play through still or are the graphics potato by current standards?

Graphics are dated with some potato moments but it's easily playable. Just be aware that the game stops as if they ran out of money and time 2/3 of the way through and said fuck it.

It had the best enemy hit reactions since SoF2 for a start.

Loved the music in the gameplay trailer. Andrew WK ftw. I think the pink/yellow branding fits the theme really well too.

Enjoyed #1, will probably grab this.

Hopefully it's just to suck those who like that kind of gameplay in... you know, the ol' bait and switch... :leet:
