Hi, does anyone know if a crucial mx500 SSD would work fine in a 2017imac and do I need apple certified RAM or can I just match voltage, speed etc and it should also be fine?

    Thanks for any advice .

Can use standard RAM and standard SSD's.

If it's a Fusion drive, you can replace both the SSD and the HDD but need to run some commands to boot the system after. Pretty simple stuff.

To replace the SSD you will need to order new screen adhesive as you need to take the screen out to replace them. Good time to replace the CPU too, again it's a normal desktop CPU.

Thanks, I got the screen open a d we have the new adhesive just wanted to know what parts to use as there seems to be a few apple approved products but really it looks like the exact same stuff.

    Thanks for the response .

Yeah I hate that. Mac Pro RAM is twice the price of HP server RAM even though they're the same part number
