Upon using it for the first time, there seems to be many "bright pixels" on my display. They are only noticable on a black screen if i look close, as they are really small. I can't count how many there are, there's so many of them it's like looking at stars on a night sky. I am wondering if this is something I should be concerned about? Really not noticable when gaming or browsing or doing anything other than looking really close when on a black screen.

I've been told this is the AG coating. That is what is showing the sparkly, multi-coloured quality when viewed close, supposedly!

The MG279Q isn't known to have a strong AG coating. Also, the AG coating is most noticeable on white backgrounds - you wouldn't see anything on a black background.

Without seeing the monitor in person, it's difficult to help you. But, if the "pixels" are actually producing light (as opposed to refracting and looking sparkly like an AG coating), then it has to be bright-pixels.

Asus have a very good pixel policy. Take it back to where you bought it from.
