Recommend Me Some PS2 Games

G'day everyone,

Being bored of the current consoles today, I've decided to rock it old school and bring back my PS2 to play some all-time classics.

As it has been a long time since I brought the console out, I have no idea on which games to play.

Can someone recommend me some games in which they loved to play back in the day?

is shadow of colossus worth the money?? always been tempted to get it, but on ebay it goes for about $70-$90

 

Otherwise you could wait for the PS3 HD remaster coming out in a couple of months

 

Hmm...that seems to be a fun game, I'll check it out as well.

 

Yakuza 1 and 2.

Then move on to PS3 to play 3 and 4.

4 is amazing.

Hell yeah Shadow of the Colossus is worth it! Especially on a big screen. The PS3 remaster should be amazing. No other game really has the atmosphere of scale like this one!

I'm playing through a few ps2 games currently. Mostly Jrpg's though.

If you're thinking about SotC don't forget ICO.

Yeah definitely. It should be around the $60AUD mark and obviously cheaper if imported. The PS2 version has probably become somewhat of a collector's item but i'm not sure how a HD remaster will affect it's long term value...

 

Any of the Fatal Frame series. Some of the scariest games going around.

Apparently that is one rare game. Finding a copy of that is going to be a though challenge, however I am up to it.

Such great titles, its a shame this current generation has not lived up to the quality shown on that list, I blame online gaming.

 

I've been going over the Splinter Cell series on my PS2.
So much fun, and they still have those tense moments through out the game.
Tho, i'd skip Pandora Tomorrow if I were you. That was a pretty horrible experience

 

I second the Shadow Of The Colossus recommendation. Top game.

Oh yeah. Definitely check out God Hand. Most underrated beat 'em up out there I reckon. Weird, cheesey Jap game. But hilarious and surprisingly awesome.

The Champions Of Norrath series weren't bad. But if you've already played the Baldurs Gate series then you may feel like you've played it before.
