There may be prettier games, but none with a world so large and detailed. I bought it on launch day and still haven't been able to play it. Whe I open it the window is larger than my monitor and I can't see any menus, resize or force fullscreen.
I understand the love people have for the depth and pacing of the game, but I would kill for 1) an option to skip/fast track travel and dialogue sequences at the start and end of every mission and 2) turn off all the "survival" and character micromanagement aspects other than health. It's better than PS4 in that it doesn't take 10 minutes to load into story from cold, but it's still a massive time investment to load the game and do one mission. I guess I just want GTAV with horses and revolvers.
I personally love the slower, story driven aspect of it all. Cruising around on my horse, soaking up the atmosphere and doing random encounters on the way to missions is my jam. One of my mates doesn't like how its slow either though. He's also right into GTA.
Having played GTA V with the new VR mod (and despite the inevitable limitations of that), RDR with baked-in VR support would be next-level! lol@ playing 4K pancake mode
RPCS3 looks great, but unless you’re lucky enough to have a PC blu-ray drive that can read PS3 discs so you can rip them you’re kinda stuck running the gauntlet of either jail breaking your console or dodgy torrents or whatever As much as I’d like to play my PS3 copy on PC, it all got a bit too hard at that point
Will check it out. If it fixes stutter I'll go back to vulkan as fps are higher. Wonder if that helps in dx12 as well as when in valentine city I get a small amount of stutter with dx12 too.
25-30 hours in, running like a charm. No crashes for me at 1080p on my R9 390X. No idea on FPS though - how do I display that?
