I might be interested. Is it stable? Non native res won't be ideal on my 1440 panel though.

Latest commentary suggests Xenia (XBox360 emulator) allows higher framerates, but has some graphical corruption.

RPCS3 (PS3 emulator) appears to be a bit better looking, but frame rates are lower (stuck at around 30FPS).

Development is moving fast on both, however. So if you're not in a rush, waiting will result in improvements in both.

I'm assuming he meant past tense as in when he played it this time last year.

But yes, the game *is* fantastic. I'm a huge fan of story driven single player games, and this is one of the better ones out there.

Very much looking forward to this, however Rockstar lately is an abomination with porting consol games to PC.
I can't even use my HOTUS to fly in GTA5

Both! Played it last year and was very good.
Online is a bit of a mess but the single player is top notch.

I've got this on ps4 but would get it for online if pepole play it. I don't like online RDR on ps4 because the controls are weird but on PC this might be excellent!

Awesome news. Perhaps one day they'll release the original RDR on PC as a HD remaster or something... still waiting for Bungie to release the original Destiny on PC :upset:

If GTA5 on PC is anything to go by, then RDR2 on PC will be a hacker shitfest within days of release.

Still, RDR2 co-op with proper train heists would be amazing.

Every GTA game had built in cheats to make the game more enjoyable. Of course MP will be a cheat fest. :D

In some ways Rockstar is infamous for still building cheats and easter eggs into its games.

Who the hell wants to fly with KB and Mouse? I sim a lot.
I even use a hotus in fucking Stormworks, a poor two person dev team. Come on Rockstar.

GTA 5 is a garbage port at best and is not tolerant to controllers.

Still a good game I never said otherwise.

You can literally control flight with a controller and mouse so it's clear a HOTUS isn't something to allocate big resources to. Couldn't hurt but garbage port it is not. It's a widely used benchmark for games as it throws nice load on gpu and cpu.

Also port means porting from console. Can you use HOTUS on console?

Bad port is incorrect argument. Perhaps good port but dissapointed they didn't allocate extra resources to HOTUS support for the 0.1%

0.1%? i think 50% of PC owners at least have a stick.

It is still a bad port, the menus are rubbish, interface rubbish, i don't get why you think it is good.
You say it uses lots of CPU and GPU, even more of a sign of bad port :p.

Anyway on topic, will def be trying RDR2 hopefully on STEAM so the refund option is there if it fails to deliver, prefer it to be awesome though with decent MP, get mates into it. Fun!

    I think you're wrong.

What does the Steam hardware survey say?

I haven't looked at any statistics but I would guess that approximately 10% or less of PC gamers actually own a stick.

As far as a port, I don't think it isn't that bad. It definitely could be better but for the amount of detail and world-size, I reckon it runs OK.

Anyway, we have our own opinions, lets just rejoice that this game is coming to PC!

Steam hardware survey might give you an idea about the stick usage, 300K registered out of 60 million ;)

I never got around to playing RDR2 on console, this release is coming a little earlier than expected, I thought mid to late 2020. Lets see how good the launch deals are!

ArsTechnica article from a while back:
    https://arstechnica.com/gaming/2018...y-pc-gamers-plug-in-gamepads-and-which-kinds/

    Quoting:

According to that, more people are using retro controllers and plastic guitars than flight sticks.

Others have shown your 50% to be light years off.

Menus meh not a big issue and it's good that it isn't GPU or CPU bound on high end systems and spreads load it is a huge open world so it makes sense to use both other games like wildlands does this too.

Is it even coming to steam?
